LEARNING CONTINUES THROUGH ADM!

Despite the suspension of face-to-face classes in Abra on August 17, 2026, learning continues at home. Our pupils from Catacdegan Elementary School actively accomplished their Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) activities with the guidance and support of their teachers and parents.

Through ADM, our learners continue to learn, practice, and accomplish their tasks while prioritizing their safety and well-being.

The Provincial Government of Abra suspends onsite face-to-face classes in all public and private schools from Kindergarten to Senior High School on August 17, 2026, upon the recommendation of DepEd-Abra, to ensure the safety and well-being of learners and school personnel.

Schools are advised to implement Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM), when conditions permit, in accordance with DepEd guidelines.

This is pursuant to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2024, particularly Section 1, Article I, which provides for the suspension of in-person classes during disasters and emergencies while ensuring learning continuity through appropriate alternative delivery modalities.

School-Based LAC Session on Innovation Strategies for Struggling Learners

Catacdegan Elementary School conducted a School-Based Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session focused on Innovation Strategies for Struggling Learners, facilitated by Sir Felix D. Ladiocan Jr., together with Maโ€™am Glenda G. Guerzon as the resource speaker.

The session provided teachers with practical and learner-centered approaches that can be adapted to the needs of struggling learners. It highlighted the importance of using innovative strategies, appropriate interventions, and responsive teaching approaches to address learning gaps and help every learner progress at their own pace.

Through collaboration and sharing of effective practices, teachers continue to strengthen their capacity to provide meaningful learning experiences and ensure that no learner is left behind.

CLASSROOM OBSERVATION | Nurturing Quality Teaching and Learning

A meaningful Classroom Observation was conducted for our dedicated advisers, Maโ€™am Princess Jane S. Dagsi, Kinder Adviser, and Maโ€™am Mary Jane B. Berroy, Grade 1 Adviser.

The observation was facilitated by Maโ€™am Victoria B. Gallo, Master Teacher I, and Sir Edwin S. Lumiwag, Principal I. The activity focused on observing classroom practices, teaching strategies, learner engagement, classroom management, and the effective delivery of lessons.

Classroom observation is an important part of professional development as it provides teachers with opportunities to reflect on their practices, recognize strengths, and identify areas for continuous improvement. It also promotes collaboration and supports the delivery of meaningful and quality learning experiences for every learner.

The Provincial Government of Abra announces the suspension of classes from Kindergarten to Senior High School in all public and private schools tomorrow, 12 August 2026.

College-level classes will proceed as scheduled.

Work at the Provincial Government of Abra will also resume.

For municipalities affected by the recent typhoon and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the decision to suspend work is entrusted to the sound discretion of the respective Local Chief Executives, guided by prevailing conditions and the safety of their constituents and personnel.

Emergencies may disrupt classrooms, but they should never stop a childโ€™s opportunity to learn. Through the Department of Education (DepEd) Learning Continuity Framework (DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2026), schools respond with a 4-Level Color System that places safety and well-being at the center of every learning decision:

๐ŸŸข HAYO (Continue) > Learning proceeds as normal when conditions are safe.
๐ŸŸก HINAY (Ease-in) > Learning slows down and becomes more flexible during minor to moderate disruptions.
๐ŸŸ  HINGA (Check-in) > Academic demands are reduced to prioritize mental health, well-being, and emotional support.
๐Ÿ”ด HINTO (Stop) > Learning is paused during severe emergencies to protect lives and ensure everyoneโ€™s safety.

Because in DepEd, safety comes first, well-being always matters, and learning must continue whenever it is safe to do so.
