In response to the recent earthquake and the advisory from MDRRMO Mambusao, the DRRM Chair Dr. June Rey I. Garbosa of Capiz State University Mambusao Satellite College under the supervision of Dr. Ramy Lloyd Lotilla the Satellite College Director, has directed the immediate suspension of classes to ensure the safety of all.

DRRM UPDATE

Dr. June Rey I. Garbosa, DRRM Chair/DRRM Helper Adviser, attended the 16th National Kampo Kalikasan held at Guimaras State University. Dr. Garbosa arrived at GSU Main Campus on October 2nd and participated in the registration and formal commencement of the program on October 3rd. A key highlight of Dr. Garbosa's attendance was his participation in the DRRM meeting on Day 3, where he engaged in discussions with Dr. Edwin Monares the Founder of SAVE ME MOVEMENT, DR. Victor V. Bernido, the UDRRMS Director of JOSE RIZAL MEMORIAL STATE UNIVERSITY, Dapitan City, our speaker, DRRM and Climate Change coordinators and delegates from different State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to address critical DRRM matters. The event continued with two more days of fruitful and engaging activities, promising further collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Post Earthquake Inspection

Following a recent earthquake, an inspection committee of MAMBUSAO SATELLITE COLLEGE, comprising the Satellite College Director Dr. Ramy Lloyd Lotilla, DRRM Chair, Dr. June Rey I. Garbosa, Planning Officer Dr. Julie V. Dalida, Physical Plant and Facilities Coordinator Dr. Herman Baranda, and General Services Coordinator, Mr. Sigfried Braña, conducted a thorough visual inspection of all Satellite College buildings. The assessment focused on structural elements such as foundations, walls, and roofs, as well as non-structural components like ceilings and windows. The inspection revealed minor issues, including cracks in plaster walls in Building A, dislodged ceiling tiles in Building B and a broken window in Building C. The committee recommends repairing the cracks, replacing the ceiling tiles and broken window. Pending these repairs, the committee concludes that Satellite College buildings are structurally sound and safe for occupancy.
