Long before independence became a chapter in history, it was a cause carried through uncertainty, conflict, and sacrifice. At the forefront of Filipino resistance during the Philippine-American War stood General Miguel Malvar, whose leadership reflected the courage and determination of a nation striving for freedom.

As we commemorate the 161st Malvar Day, may his courage and resolve remind us of the sacrifices made for freedom and the enduring spirit of the Filipino people.

Charlyn G. Liquido of Batangas State University The NEU JPLPC-Malvar placed seventh in the September 2026 Psychometricians Licensure Examination (PmLE), posting a 93.00% rating.

Following her Top 7 finish, Liquido shared a perspective that guided her through the challenges of preparation, stressing that comparison can serve as a push for growth rather than a reason to remain stagnant.

โ€œThere is nothing wrong with comparing ourselves to other people, but we should not let that comparison lead us to become stagnant,โ€ she said in an exclusive interview with The LASER.

This feat puts Liquido among the countryโ€™s top-performing examinees, carrying the Laurelian name to the PmLEโ€™s Top 10.
