Bulacan State University (BulSU) will continue implementing academic considerations for students affected by adverse weather conditions as onsite classes resume on August 26, 2026.

Under Office Memorandum No. 30, faculty members are urged to exercise flexibility on academic requirements, assessments, and deadlines for students affected by flooding, power interruptions, connectivity issues, displacement, and other weather-related difficulties.

Meanwhile, students are allowed to forgo the prescribed school uniform from August 26 to 29, subject to the university’s guidelines on appropriate and decent attire. The university emphasized that the resumption of onsite classes does not waive the academic considerations previously granted.

Bulacan State University (BulSU) will resume onsite classes in all campuses tomorrow, August 26.

Consideration and leniency will be extended to students and faculty members who remain affected by flooding or encounter difficulties traveling to BulSU. Leniency on the prescribed uniform shall also be observed for those affected by the flooding.

Online synchronous classes will continue to be conducted across all campuses on August 24 to 25 due to flooding and the continuing effects of the weather in several areas of Bulacan.

Pursuant to Office Memorandum No. 109, s. 2026, of the Bulacan State University (BulSU) Office of the President (OUP), this temporary arrangement shall be implemented to provide affected students and employees sufficient time to attend to concerns arising from the effects of the recent typhoon and Habagat.

Meanwhile, faculty members on Vacation and Sick Leave (VSL) and non-academic personnel shall still report onsite and communicate with their supervisors in case they are unable to attend due to flooding.

The General Services Office (GSO) and the Office of Safety, Security, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (OSSDRRM) shall continue monitoring the safety of classrooms, facilities, and electrical systems.

Everyone is advised to continue monitoring official announcements and exercise patience until the University proceeds with normal operations.

Due to the continued heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon and prevailing weather conditions, Bulacan State University (BulSU) announces the continuation of synchronous online classes across all levels and campuses tomorrow, August 19, until Sunday, August 23.

Faculty members are directed to conduct scheduled classes through appropriate online platforms and are encouraged to provide reasonable flexibility in academic requirements and deadlines, particularly for students affected by flooding, power interruptions, or other weather-related circumstances.

Meanwhile, Non-Academic Personnel (NAP) and faculty members under Vacation and Sick Leave (VSL) status are required to report for on-site work during the period covered by the memorandum.

Everyone is advised to remain vigilant, take necessary precautions, and stay updated with official announcements.

According to Office Memorandum No. 107, Series of 2026, faculty members are directed to provide appropriate learning modalities and ensure continuity of instruction while allowing reasonable flexibility for students who may experience difficulties due to weather-related circumstances.

Meanwhile, faculty members and non-academic personnel shall continue under a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement. Offices providing essential, frontline, emergency, safety, security, and disaster risk reduction and management services shall maintain appropriate on-site operations.

All members of the BulSU community are advised to exercise caution and prioritize their safety amid the prevailing weather conditions.

Due to the prevailing weather conditions and flooding experienced in the province of Bulacan, the Office of the University President (OUP) suspends face-to-face classes and orders the conduct of synchronous online classes.

Faculty members are expected to give appropriate consideration to students who are still affected and continue to experience difficult circumstances due to the heavy rains.
