Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 12, 2026, at exactly 3:30 PM! It’s time once again for the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥!

This drill is more than just a routine—it’s our chance to strengthen readiness, protect lives, and make sure everyone knows how to respond calmly and safely when an earthquake strikes. Learners, teachers, school personnel, and the whole community play an important role in making this exercise meaningful.

Here are your earthquake safety essentials to keep in mind:
𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐩, 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝 – Immediately drop to your hands and knees, take cover under sturdy furniture, and hold on until the shaking stops. This protects you from falling objects and debris.
𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 – Follow your school’s or office’s evacuation plan. Stay calm, do not run, and head towards your designated safe area.
𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 & 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 – Once outside, account for everyone and look for hazards or damages that may need immediate reporting.
𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 – After the activity, gather to reflect on the experience. What worked well? What can be improved? This ensures we are better prepared for real emergencies.

𝐓𝐢𝐩: If available, use hard hats or protective gear during the drill to minimize risks.

Remember, during earthquakes, every second counts. Let us commit to safety, preparedness, and resilience.
