SOLIDARITY STATEMENT OF THE BULACAN STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE GENDER AFFIRMATIVE GRADUATION RITES

The Committee on Student Groups, in solidarity with student organizations and sectoral groups, stands in firm support of the recognition, respect, and protection of every student’s identity and dignity within all student communities and organizations. We believe that genuine progress in education extends beyond academic achievement—this requires the affirmation of students’ identities and the protection of their right to express themselves freely, safely, and with dignity.

With unified voices, we express our strong support to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students of Bulacan State University. We urge the BulSU Administration for the implementation of the gender-affirmative graduation rites. This includes the recognition of lived names and the allowance of gender-affirming attire during graduation ceremonies.

Through this call, we stand alongside marginalized communities in promoting policies that recognize and respect diverse identities. Every student deserves to be recognized in a manner that reflects their identity, regardless of sexuality, gender identity, or gender expression. Upholding these rights serves as an integral part in affirming the University’s commitment to equality, respect, and student welfare.

In collaboration with the Criminology Student Society (CSS) and the Legal Management Society (LMS), under the supervision of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), comes the voluntary Alumni Fee initiative.

The Legal Management Society received its Certificate of Completion during the 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 2026 held on May 26, 2026, at the BulSU E-Library 7th Floor Amphitheater. Anchored on the theme 𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐖𝐀: Paglalayag ng Pamana Tungo sa Daluyong ng Karangalan, the event was participated in by the organization through its representatives, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐚, 𝐕𝐏𝐈𝐀 𝐊𝐢𝐚𝐧, and 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭, in recognition of student leadership, service, and organizational engagement within the university community.

Through this recognition, the Legal Management Society continues to uphold its commitment to fostering responsible leadership, active participation, and meaningful contribution among its members.

On 20 May 2026, the Legal Management Society held its First Executive Meeting and Turnover Ceremony for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The program opened with an invocation led by Director of Finance Jude Vic M. Timajo, followed by the opening remarks of President Bea Valenzuela, who emphasized integrity, accountability, and collaborative leadership in serving the organization.

Throughout the meeting, officers introduced themselves, shared their aspirations for the Society, and discussed plans for the academic year ahead. An interactive activity facilitated by Ethics and Discipline Officer Jaymark Christian L. Beldad also strengthened camaraderie among members of the Executive Board.

A highlight of the program was the Turnover Ceremony, where newly appointed and renewed officers were formally recognized as they accepted their responsibilities as part of the Society’s leadership.
