‎Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. was a former senator of the Philippines and key opposition leader who fought against the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. He was imprisoned for years under the Martial Law Period and later forced into exile.
‎
‎The tragic assassination on the tarmac of Manila International Airport, now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), sparked a quiet revolution across the nation. The loss of his voice had a significant impact. It spurred millions of people to find the bravery inside them.

‎Through Aquino’s sacrifice, the courage of Filipinos was ignited, which eventually culminated in the historic 1986 People Power Revolution. It stands as a timeless reminder for everyone that freedom is not a passive gift but a responsibility that requires our constant attention and action.

Today, we uphold these values, stand against injustice, and build a better future for coming generations. Carrying his legacy forward, we ensure his sacrifice echoes through generations; a living testament that democracy is worth anchoring.
