arching for a rounded Christian education founded on the tenets of academic excellence, spirituality, discipline, physical well-being and openness to the priestly vocation. The Immaculate Conception School for Boys was conceived and metamorphosed from a felt need as a result of the decision of the Diocese of Malolos to phase out its high school (minor) seminary located in Tabe, Guiguinto, Bulacan. The ICSB, therefore, is to function as a full secondary curriculum institution plus its unique quasi-seminary characteristic. It is not from the start of its operation in June 1989 to cater only as a local parish school, but as a Diocesan secondary school for boys. Almario, Jr., D.D., Bishop of Malolos, took the bold step of pioneering an all-boys school, motivated by the highest interest of young boys whose personal and social future has to be ensured. With the advice and recommendation of a number of Diocesan priests and lay educators, Bishop Almario plugged the machinery in motion by organizing a Board of Directors, conducting a feasibility study, applying for permit and recognition from the Securities and Exchange Commission and from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. The Building of the old (former) Immaculata Academy of Malolos, located on a lot owned by the Diocese of Malolos, which the SSpS Sisters vacated in favor of a new one, becomes the nucleus of the present ICSB. Rodolfo C. Bagay as principal and part time teacher was selected and organized. Information drives about the opening of ICSB were conducted, and at the start of SY 1989-1990, ICSB was not just a school but also a home-away-from-home. Parents-Teachers Council complements the school’s development program for the students. As early as the first quarter of SY 1992-93, the DECS granted ICSB an official Government Recognition, attesting to the school’s increasing population, academic and co-curricular achievements not only in the Division of Bulacan but even in national assemblies and contests which DECS sponsored-to wit: medals and trophies in regional and national secondary school press conferences, science and math contests and leadership in the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BULPRISA) and the Malolos Diocese Catholic Schools Association (MADICSA). The Bishop and his co-workers in the school administration are leaving no stone unturned to maximize the educational productivity of ICSB, a feat which was highlighted by the first ever Graduation last March 25, 1993, and 100% passing percentile performance of its 102 senior students in the National College Entrance Examinations (NCEE) in the same school year. Every organization, institution or association exists for a particular purpose. Its very existence on, or is strongly based on the very purpose for which the institution or organization was created. Thus, we can see the importance of the logo, the symbol of the institution itself. It is the logo, which aims to symbolized exactly what the institution stands for. Through the logo, we derive the institution vision, mission and goal. The Three books in the ICSB logo stand for three things: the first book stands for ACADEMIC which gives priority to the curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the school so as to enable students to attain academic excellence in all endeavors set forth in the educational system. The second book represents the DISCIPLINE or the disciplinary aspect of the institution to inculcate the value of personal or internal discipline as a key to self-growth and social progress. The third book represents SPIRITUALITY, the top priority of the school on which the two other areas of formation are based on. It aims to develop in the students a prayerful life and a mature understanding of their Catholic faith that should lead them to a life of love and service for God and his people. Moreover, it also aims to guide vocation-inclined students in their holy encounter with Christ in the priestly ministry. The Flaming Torch stands for the burning zeal of every student to improve oneself,, most especially in the three areas of Spirituality, Academic Excellence and Discipline. The Marian Symbol in the logo stands for the patronage of Our Blessed Mother Mary. The whole Institution, as well as one in it (from the administration, the faculty, the students, to the personnel )is all entrusted the maternal care [and protection of our Blessed Mother. The Cross symbolized our oneness with the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord, the Paschal mystery. This means that Christ is alive in this institution and we seek to find Him in every person, every place and event, circumstances or situation we are in. Thus, the students begin each day with a Morning Offering to Christ, for we give to Him all that we do, all that we say, all that we are. The Growing Seed in the logo symbolizes the growing seeds of vocation, which God has implanted in each student. The school nurtures these seed of vocation, first and foremost of which is the vocation, to the Priesthood. ICSB takes extra care in nurturing these seeds, which are to be replanted in the seminary grounds at the appropriate time. Of course, the school also gives proper guidance and enlightenment on the vocation to the married state and to the state of single-blessedness. The Shield, which forms part of the logo’s inner frame, represents protection from all evil, temptation and sin. ICSB believes that prevention is always better than cure, thus, it seeks to protect its students from all physical, moral and spiritual dangers, with an effort to the balance things through exposures, lectures and film showings. Making students aware of the harsh realities of life, although not overexposed to the existing realities of the world. The Circle, which frames the logo symbolizes the unity and harmony in the institution, making it one big happy family. It stresses the community spirit which binds each on to the other. In times of trial and adversity, we all stands as one. In times of joy and victory, the whole community shares in the joy. The Laurel leaves outside the circle symbolizes the school’s commitment to the excellence in every field of endeavor. The school wishes to have the best products, thus it tries its best to have the best teachers applying the best method of education, while motivating the students to reach out for the best in everything they do.
