WNM Daniella Bianca Cruz of Malolos City edged Cyrein Jean Borce of Zamboanga City on tiebreaks after both finished with an impressive 4.0/5 points in the PSC-NCFP Philippine Youth Selection in LGU Alicia Community Center-Alicia, Isabela.

The victory puts the U15 Girls champion on track for an international chess event later this year—another proud milestone for Philippine youth chess, and a source of immense pride for Malolos City!

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON SEPTEMBER 4

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 134, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented at all levels in public and private educational institutions in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on September 4, 2026, unless their respective Local Chief Executives direct the cancellation or suspension of classes:

📢 PUBLIC ADVISORY
Suspension of In-Person Classes | City of Malolos

Due to the prevailing rains brought by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon, and as precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners and school personnel, IN-PERSON CLASSES in ALL LEVELS in both public and private schools in the City of Malolos are hereby suspended today, September 3, 2026.

Schools are instructed to implement learning continuity modalities which must be monitored by school heads and supervisors. This measure is being undertaken to prevent risks associated with flooding, road hazards, and other rain-induced threats.

The public is advised to remain indoors, monitor official weather updates from PAGASA, and stay alert for further announcements from the City Government of Malolos and local school authorities.

Let us all stay vigilant and take the necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property.

Please be guided accordingly.
