We are proud to congratulate our member, Jessa Egoy, for serving as the Resource Speaker during the 16th Journalism Training entitled “Binhi at Pluma: Dyorno sa Kamay ng Bagong Henerasyon.”

Ma’am Jessa previously served as the News and Sports Editor of the University of Muntinlupa from 2019 to 2021.

Today, as a dedicated Behavior Therapist, she continues to inspire and empower others through her commitment to communication, learning, and development.

Congratulations Ma’am Jessa!

If only people could see these children the way we and their parents see them, we believe the world would be a kinder and better place for everyone.

These children inspire us every day, and in many ways, they help us become better people through the joy, resilience, and perspective they bring into our lives.

Today, we are sharing a heartfelt letter from one of our interns, a beautiful reminder of the impact these children have not only on their own families, but also on the people fortunate enough to work with and learn from them.

"Hello Sir Allan! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be here at Purple Seedlings. From the day of orientation, you told us that when we leave, something in our perspective will change or that we would bring something meaningful with us, and I believe we truly did. Interacting with and observing these children helped me see their situations from a new perspective. This internship helped me see beyond their disabilities and recognize how creative, talented, and smart they are. They are just like any other kids who have the potential to grow and improve. There are people who guide them, trust them, and help them discover their abilities.

This experience also taught me empathy, patience, and genuine care. it showed me that the world can be kind to them, and that can guide them gently without causing harm. It made me realize that authoritarian parenting is not always the solution. We can be gentle and kind while still teaching what is right.

Thank you for this wonderful experience, sir, and for introducing us to these amazing children and dedicated therapists. This is something I will treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you for being so kind and chill with us. Our time here might be short but definitely fruitful. I hope you continue to succeed in your future endeavors, sir. Lagi't lagi..."

Yesterday, representatives from Purple Seedlings participated in the Industry Partners and Stakeholders Meeting hosted by National University Baliwag. The event gathered representatives from various institutions to discuss current issues, research, trends, curriculum development, and program building within their respective fields.

The meeting was attended by professionals and representatives from organizations and institutions such as GMA Network, Department of Education (DepEd), Bulacan State University, ESL Philippines, Big Ben Construction, Bridge of Hope and many others. It also served as a valuable opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues and strengthen partnerships with fellow industry stakeholders.

This participation reflects Purple Seedlings’ continuing mission to collaborate with different institutions, expand professional networks, and advocate for children with special needs through meaningful partnerships and community engagement.

Thank you, Bulldogs!

One of the heartbreaking comments that we often hear from clients is, “Natrauma ang anak ko sa dati niyang therapy.” Some parents describe their children becoming fearful of therapists, crying upon entering therapy rooms, avoiding learning activities, or showing distress during sessions.

These experiences remind us that while interventions aim to help, the manner in which they are delivered also matters.

We continuously strive to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every learner at Purple Seedlings.

We would like to share some of the ways we incorporate trauma-informed care into our trainings and everyday therapeutic practices.

At Purple Seedlings, we believe that meaningful progress and skill development should always go hand in hand with protecting each child’s emotional safety, dignity, and overall well-being.

One of the most fundamental concepts in Applied Behavior Analysis is its dimensions, introduced by Baer, Wolf, and Risley in 1968, which serve as a guide for practitioners in delivering proper, ethical, and evidence-based services and help clients identify whether the interventions provided are consistent with the standards of ABA practice.

Know ABA.

Change is inevitable. ABA before is not the same as ABA today.

Applied Behavior Analysis has evolved significantly over time, becoming more child-centric, culturally responsive, and evidence-based as new research and professional guidelines continue to shape its practice.

However, changes without scientific basis are merely speculative and lack empirical validity, which is not safe because it may lead to ineffective or harmful practices, reduce treatment integrity, and result in interventions that are not supported by evidence-based outcomes.

Well, I guess this calls for reassessment.
