Then you realize that despite everything, it all comes down to unconditional love—the kind that makes every challenge worth it, every worry a little lighter, and every moment more meaningful. At the end of the day, that love is what truly matters.

This is where the functionalism of Verbal Behavior becomes important.
The goal of communication is not simply to make a child talk. The goal is to help a child develop a functional and effective way to communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings.
If a child can communicate through gestures, signs, pictures, AAC, or other appropriate responses, those forms of communication can be meaningful and should be respected.
At the same time, when speech is an appropriate and achievable option, we can teach it as one functional form of communication—not simply because “talking is better,” but because it may open more opportunities for the child to communicate across people, places, and situations.
In Verbal Behavior, we look beyond the form of the response and ask:
“What is the function of this communication?”
Because communication isn't about making children talk.
It's about making sure they have a reliable way to be heard.

Parents will do everything in their power to help their child. They are willing to invest in the best services and professionals, but the right intervention is more than what happens during a therapy session. Look for providers who extend their support beyond the session, through continuous learning, parent empowerment, collaboration, and genuine advocacy for the child.
The best intervention does not simply work with the child; it equips the family to continue helping the child grow.

Simpatya nga ba ang kailangan ng mga pamilyang may special children?
Sa proseso ng pagtanggap, mabilis man o matagal, at sa masalimuot na pagdiskubre ng kagandahan ng sitwasyon, ang kailangan ay pasensya at pag-intindi mula sa kapaligiran.
Pero hindi ito sapat. Kailangan ng konkretong programa, suporta, at epektibong implementasyon mula sa mga nasa kapangyarihan upang tunay na matugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga bata at kanilang pamilya.
Ang tanging AWA na kailangan ay pag uNAWA at gAWA.
