Today, we celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

According to tradition, she gave the Brown Scapular to St. Simon Stock as a sign of her protection and a reminder to clothe ourselves in Christ’s gentle love. This feast beautifully recalls Mary’s silent devotion and maternal care for us all.

HSAians, like Our Lady of Mount Carmel, let us cultivate a heart of quiet trust and and obedience to the will of the Father. Take a moment of silence today to step away from the noise, find peace in prayer, and say a fresh "yes" to God in all we do.

Let us pray:
O Most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, beautiful vine, splendor of heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my mother. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse. Sweet Mother, we place our prayers in your hands. Amen.

Every human life is a beautiful gift from God, starting from the very beginning. In a world that often rushes past the weak and vulnerable, the Pope reminds us to stop, look closer, and protect every person at every stage of life.

Just like the hands holding tightly together in the stormy waves, we are called to reach out and make sure no one is forgotten or left behind. May our families, school, and communities become places where every individual feels safe, valued, and loved.

HSAians, may we be brave enough to choose care over indifference every single day; and may our world grow warmer, one small act of kindness at a time.

When our actions or words stop matching the actions of Jesus, we slowly drift away and become strangers to God. It is not always through one big mistake, but often through the small moments when we choose pride over humility, anger over forgiveness, or selfishness over compassion. Every decision we make either brings us closer to Christ or farther from Him.

To know God is not simply to believe in Him, it is to reflect Him in the way we continue our daily lives.
