Matagumpay na naisakatuparan ng Schools Division Office (SDO) ng Davao Occidental ang Deployment of Schools Division Resources sa Jose Abad Santos II District bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagtugon sa mga pangangailangan ng mga g**o, non-teaching personnel, at mga mag-aaral na naapektuhan ng kamakailang lindol at flash flood.

Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos ng Team SDO Davao Occidental, naihatid ang iba't ibang interbensyon, relief assistance, suporta, at pag-asa sa komunidad ng edukasyon na labis na naapektuhan ng mga naturang kalamidad.

Taos-pusong nagpapasalamat ang SDO Davao Occidental sa DSWD Region XI at PSWDO, Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Jose Abad Santos, at sa lahat ng partner agencies, stakeholders, at mga indibidwal na nagpaabot ng tulong at malasakit para sa mga g**o, non-teaching personnel, at mga mag-aaral ng Jose Abad Santos II District.

Cabinet Secretaries Lead Relief Efforts and EduKahon Distribution in Earthquake- and Flash Flood-Affected Jose Abad Santos

JOSE ABAD SANTOS, Davao Occidental– Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex T. Gatchalian, together with Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos, Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, and DepEd Region XI Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, visited Jose Abad Santos on July 20, 2026, to assess the condition of communities affected by the recent earthquakes and flash floods.

The delegation visited Sitio Kibatang, Barangay Sugal, the ground zero of the flash floods, and the evacuation center in Sitio Talanasan, where they met with affected families, teachers, and learners.

As part of the government's coordinated response, the Schools Division Office of Mati City and the Schools Division Office of the Island Garden City of Samal turned over EduKahon learning kits to affected learners, while teachers received educational materials and essential goods. Cash assistance, food packs, and other relief items were also distributed to displaced families.

The officials were welcomed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Jason John Joyce and, together with local government and national agency representatives.

The visit reflects the government's commitment to providing immediate assistance, ensuring learning continuity, and supporting the recovery of disaster-affected communities through a whole-of-government approach.
