The Demolok Valley National High School (DVNHS) successfully conducted its 4th Senior High School Research Colloquium today at the school gymnasium, showcasing the research outputs of Grade 12 students across various strands.
Participating strands included General Academic Strand (GAS), Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM), Agri Crop Production (ACP), Bread and Pastry Production (BPP), Cookery, and Food Processing, all of which presented their studies through poster presentations. The activity highlighted students’ analytical skills, creativity, and ability to apply research concepts to real-life situations.
The event was made possible through the dedication of the research advisers, namely Ma’am Luyenie U. Medrano, Sir Paolo Gencianeo, Sir Arvin M. Larobis, and Sir Joseph John Saligumba, who guided the student-researchers throughout the process.
To ensure objective evaluation, external adjudicators from nearby schools were invited. These included Mx. Jovany Serna from Tingolo Integrated School, Ms. Laira Cutay from Tomas Lim Alcordo National High School, and Ms. Princess Calvo from Ernesto Lopez National High School. Their presence added credibility and professional insight to the assessment of student outputs.
School officials led by Principal II Ma’am Arabia D. Puyot and Assistant School Head Sir Roste G. Huerta expressed their full support for the activity, emphasizing the importance of research in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills among learners.
The Technical Working Group (TWG) also played a vital role in organizing the event and ensuring its smooth implementation.
The successful conduct of the colloquium underscores DVNHS’s commitment to promoting a strong research culture and preparing students for higher education and future careers.
