On July 18, 2026, at Barangay Tical, Malita, Davao Occidental, the Legasiya "Holy Ecosians," MYLC, 73rd Malita, the PNP of Malita, and the Top 25 Eco-Warriors joined forces to plant 50 narra trees in support of environmental conservation and flood mitigation.

The activity began with an inspiring orientation by Ms. Elsa Albaracin, the landowner, who highlighted the importance of tree planting in protecting Barangay Tical from flooding and preserving its natural environment. After the successful tree-planting activity, the Top 25 Eco-Warriors received their Certificates of Participation for the 3rd Eco-Summit: Kalikasan 2026.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Sir Earl Vengie Trinidad, LPT, MYLC President, who encouraged everyone to continue caring for the environment through meaningful action.

On July 18, 2026, at the Turtle Sanctuary in Barangay Lais, Malita, Davao Occidental, a meaningful milestone in environmental conservation was achieved as more than 50 sea turtles were successfully released back into their natural home.

This inspiring activity brought together the Top 25 Eco-Warriors, the Malita Young Leaders Congress (MYLC), the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Malita, and the 73rd Infantry Battalion, united by one mission—to protect and preserve our marine ecosystem.

Before the release, Tatay Yunos, the dedicated caretaker of the sanctuary and a true Bantay Dagat, shared his invaluable real-life experiences and lifelong commitment to protecting sea turtles. His heartfelt stories reminded everyone that conservation begins with compassion and responsibility.

The learning continued as Sir Daligdig from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) provided a scientific discussion on the vital role of sea turtles in maintaining the balance of our oceans and why protecting them is essential for future generations.

As the young hatchlings made their way into the sea, they carried with them a message of hope—that every small action we take today creates a lasting impact on tomorrow.

To conclude the activity, participants, with Tatay Yunos' permission, painted a mural on the wall of his house as a symbol of gratitude and a lasting reminder of our shared commitment to protecting sea turtles and conserving their natural habitat.

On July 18, 2026, environmental advocates, youth leaders, and community members gathered at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Hall for KALIKASAN 2026—an eco-summit dedicated to empowering local communities and inspiring actionable change for our planet.

The morning began with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the Malita Hymn. Inspiring opening messages from Uno Alfonso Baribar and Greggory Marquez then set a unified tone of stewardship and hope for the day’s activities.

The heart of the session kicked off with an eye-opening presentation titled "Plastic vs. People: Building a Sustainable Future Together," led by Uno Baribar. His talk shed light on the devastating impacts of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems, specifically highlighting the tragic reality faced by sea turtles. Because floating single-use plastics closely resemble jellyfish and marine plants, sea turtles frequently ingest them. This leads to severe internal blockages, false fullness that causes starvation, and fatal entanglements. The discussion emphasized that land-based plastic waste inevitably flows into our seas, stressing that protecting marine life requires immediate, collective action to break our reliance on single-use waste.

Continuing the momentum, Ms. Anabella V. Antoque, Ecosians Moderator, delivered her talk, "Environmental Warriors: Leading Change for a Sustainable Future," urging participants and youth leaders to step up as proactive guardians of nature. The session at the SB Hall concluded on a high note with an inspiring message from Leo Angelo Labis, Co-founder of Holy Ecosians, who reminded everyone that small, conscious actions today lead to massive environmental victories tomorrow.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening leg of this journey! Together, let us continue to choose our planet and build a sustainable future for all! 🌿🐢🌊
