Following the powerful earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao on June 5, 2026, severely impacting the communities of General Santos City and Maasim, Sarangani, the College of Nursing in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. Bukidnon Chapter is launching a Donation Drive to extend assistance to affected individuals and families.

This initiative aims to unite the BukSU communityโ€”including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other valued partnersโ€”in providing relief and support through voluntary donations.

Every contribution, no matter how small, can bring comfort, hope, and relief to those facing the challenges brought by this disaster.

Let us unite in compassion and service. Together, we can make a difference. ๐Ÿฉท

โ€œA nurse recognizes the fears behind the silence, the anxiety behind the question and the dignity within every human being. We care not only for the diseases but for our people. Our guiding principle is simply yet profound, treat every patient as you would treat your own family,โ€ shared by Ms. Dawn S. Maghanoy, RN, resource speaker of the 16th Professional Pinning & Ring Hopping Ceremony, with the theme โ€œCarrying the Light of Care for the Nation: Embracing the Responsibility to Heal, Serve and Stand for the Filipino Peopleโ€ held yesterday, June 16, 2026 at the Bukidnon State University Gymnasium.

This ceremony symbolized the studentsโ€™ transition from learners to emerging healthcare professionals entrusted with the noble mission of caring for others. The pinning rite served as a powerful reminder of the values, knowledge, and competencies they have cultivated through years of rigorous academic preparation and clinical training, while the ring hopping ceremony celebrated their readiness to embrace greater responsibilities in the nursing profession.

As Batch Akasi received their nursing pins and crossed a symbolic threshold toward professional practice, they affirmed their dedication to upholding the ideals of the nursing profession and responding to the healthcare needs of communities with integrity, competence, and empathy, becoming the advocates of health and healing for the Filipino people. ๐Ÿฉท
