Malaybalay City, Bukidnon โ The Bukidnon State University โ College of Nursing (BukSU-CON) continues its pursuit of excellence in nursing education as it undergoes the Virtual Level IV Accreditation Visit for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on September 2โ4, 2026.
Anchored on its commitment to developing competent, compassionate, and globally responsive nursing professionals, the accreditation visit highlights BukSU-CONโs continuing journey toward quality assurance, institutional excellence, and sustainable growth.
The three-day virtual evaluation was conducted by the distinguished AACCUP accreditation team composed of Dr. Elsie M. Pacho, Dr. Loida O. Crespo, and Dr. Sarah S. Taupan, who assessed the Collegeโs practices, accomplishments, and quality systems across key areas of institutional performance.
Beyond compliance, the accreditation visit showcased BukSU-CONโs achievements through five defining pillars of excellence: research, performance of graduates, community service, internationalization, linkages and consortia, and a well-developed planning process. These areas reflect the Collegeโs commitment to producing graduates who demonstrate competence, character, and service; generating impactful research; transforming communities through meaningful engagement; strengthening global partnerships; and sustaining continuous quality improvement through evidence-based systems and processes.
For more than two decades, BukSU College of Nursing has remained committed to shaping nursing professionals who are prepared to respond to evolving healthcare needs. Its graduates continue to contribute to healthcare institutions, communities, and professional organizations, carrying with them the values of excellence, integrity, compassion, and service.
Following the accreditation visit, the AACCUP accreditors recognized the dedication, preparedness, and collaborative efforts demonstrated by the College throughout the evaluation process.
In her message, Dr. Sarah S. Taupan expressed her appreciation for the Collegeโs cooperation and commitment, stating:

Meanwhile, Dr. Loida O. Crespo commended the collective efforts of the College, sharing:

These affirmations reflect the strong commitment of the BukSU College of Nursing community toward sustaining quality, excellence, and continuous improvement in nursing education.
The success of the accreditation journey is a testament to the collective efforts of the BukSU College of Nursing AACCUP Level IV Accreditation Task Force, whose leadership, expertise, and commitment guided the preparation, organization, and presentation of the Collegeโs accomplishments and quality assurance initiatives.
Leading the accreditation preparation is the Overall Chairperson, Dr. Ma. Algerica T. Cuenco, Dean of the College of Nursing, together with the respective area chairpersons and members who worked collaboratively in showcasing the Collegeโs strengths and achievements.
The College acknowledges the contributions of the teams behind the five accreditation areas:
Area 1: Research, led by Brenda G. Caballero, RN, MN, together with the research team members, who highlighted the Collegeโs commitment to knowledge generation, scholarly inquiry, and evidence-based nursing practice.
Area 2: Performance of Graduates, led by Aubrey S. Edio, RN, MAN, together with the team members, who presented the achievements, employability, and professional impact of BukSU nursing graduates.
Area 3: Community Service, led by Dr. Christine Joy B. Cainday, together with the team members, who showcased the Collegeโs meaningful partnerships and sustainable contributions to communities.
Area 4: Internationalization, Linkages and Consortia, led by Giovanni Jan N. Sanchez, RN, MAN, together with the team members, who strengthened the narrative of BukSU-CONโs global partnerships and international engagements.
Area 5: Well-Developed Planning Process, led by Dr. Fatima C. Tanzo, together with the team members, who demonstrated the Collegeโs strategic direction, governance systems, and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
The College likewise extends its deepest appreciation to the Bukidnon State University Administration for its unwavering support and commitment to advancing quality higher education. Special recognition is given to the University officials whose guidance and institutional support strengthened the Collegeโs accreditation journey: Dr. Joy M. Mirasol โ University President, Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela โ Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso โ Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovations, Dr. Lincoln V. The College also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Dr. Helen P. Garcia, Planning Director, and Dr. Iris Ramirez, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), together with the entire Quality Assurance team, for their technical guidance, coordination, and continuous efforts in fostering a culture of quality and excellence across the institution.
The College likewise recognizes the valuable presence and support of the University officials and directors who actively participated during the virtual accreditation visit through their attendance and engagement in the evaluation process. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Rozanne Tuesday G. Flores, Program Chair for Student Mobility; Dr. Rizza R. Consad, Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Unit; Ms. Katrina Faith M. Melig, Department Head for Alumni Relations; Dr. Jiemalyn B. Paulican, Director of the Extension Unit; and Dr. Joan M. Recente, Director of the Research Unit, for their participation, support, and continued commitment in strengthening the Collegeโs internationalization initiatives, alumni engagement, extension services, and research endeavors.
The College also recognizes the videography team led by Dr. Zenas B. Paloma, together with Dr. Hazel Agbayani and Dr. Lharra Mae Postrano whose creative efforts and well-thought of narratives helped translate BukSU-CONโs accreditation journey in the 20-minute video.
Through the collective commitment of the university administration, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, clinical partners, and stakeholders, BukSU College of Nursing continues to demonstrate that excellence is not achieved by chanceโit is built through vision, collaboration, continuous improvement, and purposeful action.
