Hi guys! Here are some of my tips on "How to take good care of our MENTAL HEALTH amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic" I hope it would be helpful to all of you.
1. READ BOOKS. Reading is the best investment of time ever. It brings entertainment and helps boost your imagination. At the same time, you're also helping your mind to function and work out if you read. PS. Don't forget to list out unfamiliar words that you'll encounter and look for its corresponding meaning to widen your vocabulary.
2. DISCOVER MORE ABOUT YOURSELF. Now is the perfect time in knowing yourself more. What your hobbies, abilities, and talents are. The best way in evaluating yourself is to explore. Try various activities at home such as learning how to play instruments, cooking, learning new language, video editing, sketching, painting and more. Being busy doing the things you love helps you against boreout syndrome during this pandemic.
3. DO GARDENING. One of the most productive thing to do during this pandemic is to go outside and plant somewhere. Make your green fingers work! Grow something like succulents, cactus and other varieties of plants and even vegetables you would like to. Working with nature and seeing something green refreshes the mind.
4. WORK OUT. Doing exercise everyday helps you not only to be physically fit but also to be MENTALLY healthy! Based on HealthyBrains.Org, physical exercise improves blood flow and memory. It stimulates chemical changes that enhance learning, mood and thinking. In short, a person who does exercise attains a better and positive mood.
5. ORGANIZE YOUR ROOM. It's time to declutter and organize all your messy stuff. Research or think of some creative ideas in organizing your room that suits your personality or a certain theme you just want. An organized room would give you the ambiance of tranquility which is good and relaxing for the mind. Always remember to choose the color that brings off positive vibes like bright colors.
6. PLAY WITH YOUR PETS. Pets are certified stress relievers. Play and spend time your adorable pets to minimize stress and anxiety. It's also the best time to know your pets more and teach them some new tricks that you would love them to acquire.
7. BE CREATIVE. We can be creative in numerous ways. Try to be innovative and resourceful during the quarantine and think of some ways to make use of some stuff inside your houses that you don't use anymore. Have your Do-It-Yourself (DIY) ideas based on the materials available. Water bottles, cans, plastic containers, strings, and other stuff that can still be utilized to create a new stuff. Coming up with new ideas is a good exercise for the mind. Always remember to comsume less and create more.
8. REACH OUT TO FAMILY MEMBERS. This is the perfect time to spend time and reach out to your love ones. Make sure that you have an open communication with them. If you're feeling lonely or stressed or whatever your emotions and thoughts are, feel free to share it with them. Show them that you're also willing to listen with their concerns. Aside from having an open communication, make sure to think of some fun family activities like playing board games, having picnic just outside the house, doing zumba, movie marathon, family games like 'charades', 'paint me a picture' and more.
9. REFLECT/ANALYZE YOUR DAY. There are a lot of normal things in our daily lives that we have taken for granted and we tend to regret it at the end of the day. Reflect and analyze your day. Make sure that at the end day and before going to bed, you'd spend 10 minutes to consider what things you managed to do well and what mistakes you made and make sure to come up with an alternative to avoid the same mistakes again.
10. READ THE BIBLE.
It's time to go back to the creator again, humble ourselves and seek for forgiveness. Read his words everyday to be guided in finding the right path of life. Bible is not only a book that instills knowledge and wisdom but it is a book for those people who wants transformation of the heart and attitude. It is the best weapon to use in able to be mentally and emotionally strong during this pandemic.
