As digital transformation continues to reshape societies, disparities in human development and digital access remain key factors influencing Quality of Life (QoL) across Asian economies. This study examined the relationship between human development indicators, digital access, and QoL among selected Global North and Global South Asian countries from 2013 to 2023.
Using descriptive trend analysis, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and Fixed Effects panel regression, the study found that mobile subscriptions significantly improve QoL, particularly in Global South economies where digital connectivity expands access to services and socioeconomic opportunities. Meanwhile, internet pe*******on demonstrated stronger welfare effects in more digitally advanced Global North economies.
The findings highlight the growing importance of digital connectivity in contemporary development and emphasize that the impact of human development and digital access on QoL varies depending on a countryโ€™s stage of development. This research contributes valuable insights for policymakers in promoting inclusive growth, digital equity, and sustainable development across Asia.
The BukSU Economics Internship community proudly celebrates this academic achievement and commends the authors for their meaningful contribution to development economics and policy research. Congratulations!
