Tagumpay sa Isla: Nabaoy Integrated School, Namayagpag sa District SPC 2026; Siyam na Kalahok, Wagi Bilang District Awardees!

BORACAY ISLAND, MALAY, AKLAN — Pinatunayan ng Nabaoy Integrated School (NIS) ang kanilang husay at talino matapos magningning sa katatapos lamang na District Schools Press Conference (SPC) 2026 nitong Setyembre 26, 2026. Ginanap ang nasabing kompetisyon sa Balabag Elementary School at Boracay National High School sa Boracay Island, kung saan ang lahat ng siyam na mag-aaral na lumahok mula sa NIS ay nagkamit ng parangal at itinanghal na District Awardees, habang lima naman sa kanila ang matagumpay na nag-qualify para sa Division Level.

Sa kategoryang Balitang Pampalakasan para sa Elementary, nagwagi sina Christine Joy R. Cativo sa 3rd place, Joyce Annika Pacho sa 8th place, at Kurt Angelo P. De Jesus sa 4th place. Para naman sa Secondary category ng Balitang Pampalakasan, pumwesto sina Rheanne Samantha M. Agustin sa 9th place, Alyana Flores sa 10th place, at Jane P. Sabugo sa 8th place. Samantala, namayagpag din ang mga kalahok sa Kartung Pang-Editoryal para sa Elementary, kung saan nagtala sina Jehn Steffi Flores ng 5th place, Shinrah Tamayo ng 1st place bilang kampeon, at Princes Vianney C. Ureta ng 4th place.

Ang tagumpay na ito ay naging posible sa ilalim ng mahusay na gabay at pagtuturo ng kanilang mga coach na sina Joriel S. Flores at Jenemie C. Zamora.

Alinsunod sa alituntunin na ang mga nagwagi mula 1st hanggang 5th place lamang ang uusad sa susunod na yugto, ang mga mag-aaral na pasok sa top 5 ay maghahanda na ngayon para sa nalalapit na Division SPC na gaganapin sa Nobyembre 21–22, 2026.

NIS Swimmers Make Waves at WAAM 2026, Bag 11 Medals

NABAOY, Malay, Aklan — The Nabaoy Integrated School (NIS) Swimming Team delivered a strong performance at the Western Aklan Athletic Association Meet (WAAM) 2026, winning 11 medals and sending two swimmers to the Aklan Provincial Athletic Association Meet (APAAM).

The NIS swimmers attacked their individual and relay events with speed, endurance, teamwork, and determination, bringing pride to their school and community.

Leading the medal haul, Jan Mark S. Oczon captured five medals. He won silver in the 100m Freestyle and bronze in the 400m Freestyle Boys and 50m Freestyle Boys. He also helped his relay teams secure silver medals in the 50m Medley Relay and 50m Freestyle Relay. His performance earned him a berth in the Aklan Provincial Athletic Association Meet.

John Kirby F. Ricafort added three medals to the team’s tally. He helped the boys’ squad win silver in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay and 50m Freestyle Relay, while he finished third in the 50m Breaststroke Boys. His performance also earned him qualification for the Aklan Provincial Athletic Association Meet.

In the girls’ events, Noella Bajar powered the NIS team to gold in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay Girls, while Venus Irish R. Claud secured gold in the 4x100m Medley Relay and silver in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay.

NIS Finishes with 11 Medals

The four swimmers combined for two gold, six silver, and three bronze medals. Oczon led the individual medal count with five, followed by Ricafort with three, while Bajar and Claud contributed one and two medals, respectively.

The swimmers’ performance also highlighted the strength of NIS’s developing sports program, as the athletes turned months of training and preparation into podium finishes on the WAAM stage.

With Oczon and Ricafort advancing to the provincial meet, the NIS Swimming Team now looks forward to another opportunity to compete and represent Nabaoy.
