The Sun is about 4.6 billion years old, and Earth is slightly younger at 4.54 billion years.
But here’s the twist — the water on Earth is far older than both.
The hydrogen in every drop of water was born just 380,000 years after the Big Bang, nearly 13.8 billion years ago, when the first atoms formed in the cooling universe. The oxygen came later, forged deep inside massive stars that exploded billions of years before our Sun even existed.
In the cold, dark regions of interstellar space, hydrogen and oxygen combined into water ice, clinging to tiny dust grains and drifting between the stars. This ancient ice became part of comets, asteroids, and cosmic debris that eventually merged to form Earth.

Absolute respect!
After Japan's stunning 2-1 upset win over Germany at the 2022 World Cup, their fans did something that left everyone talking. Instead of rushing out to celebrate, they stayed behind at Khalifa International Stadium with blue trash bags and cleaned up.
Not just their own trash. All the trash. Even the litter that wasn't theirs.
For the rest of the world, this was incredible. For Japanese fans? It was just normal.
This has been a tradition for years. They did it at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, even after a heartbreaking loss to Belgium. They did it at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Win or lose, Japanese fans clean up before they leave.
It's rooted in Japanese culture. From a young age, people in Japan are taught to clean their own spaces. Classrooms, workplaces, public areas. You leave a place cleaner than you found it. There are barely any public trash cans in Japan because everyone takes their trash home with them.
The tradition inspired fans from other countries too. Saudi Arabian, Moroccan, and French fans started doing the same thing at their matches.
Respect doesn't need a language. It just needs action.
