Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity: Presentation of Results
After the orientation and conduct of student led school watching and hazard mapping activity, SSLG president Jasmine N. Tamayo and SSLG Adviser, Rommel S. Cadawas presented the results of the risk factors observed and identified to the School Planning Team (SPT). The school planning team is composed of the following: school head, barangay captain, PTA president, faculty president, guidance designate, SSLG adviser and SSLG President. Through this activity, students became more aware of potential hazards in their surroundings such as slippery floors, exposed wires, or unsafe pathways. This helped them avoid accidents and act more carefully. Also, instead of just being passive learners, students will take an active role in identifying risks and suggesting solutions, making them more engaged in school safety efforts.
This activity prepares students for emergencies by helping them understand risks and plan safer actions during disasters like typhoon, earthquakes, fires, or floods. The information gathered from students can help teachers, stakeholders and school administrators identify areas that need repair or improvement.
