Nagsagawa ang Malabon LGU ng ng Half-Day Orientation on the Philippine Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program upang talakayin ang mahahalagang probisyon ng Republic Act No. 12199 o Philippine ECCD System Act.

Tinalakay rin ang registration at recognition requirements, pati ang mga alituntunin sa pagpapatupad ng ECCD programs. Layunin ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Malabon na mapalakas ang mga programa para matiyak ang dekalidad, inklusibo, at holistic na pag-unlad ng mga batang Malabueño mula sa kanilang mga unang taon.

A big step forward for young Filipino children 👶🎉

The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Systems Act have officially been signed, turning a landmark law into action.

The law strengthens the country's ECCD system by expanding access to health, nutrition, and quality early learning for children from birth to eight years old. It also requires every barangay to establish a Child Development Center, where children aged five and below can learn, play, and receive care from trained ECCD service providers.

Save the Children Philippines is proud to have contributed to the review and refinement of the IRR since last year. We advocated for stronger provisions to ensure children with disabilities are included through reasonable accommodation, accessible environments, and respect for cultural and linguistic diversity.

The work does not stop here. We will continue to provide technical support to national and local government partners to help ensure every child can access quality and inclusive services.

A copy of the IRR is set to be published in the Official Gazette soon.
