The Banyan Writers Attend Division Training-Workshop for School Paper Journalists
On August 16, 2026, campus journalists from Ricardo L. Ipong National High School participated in the Division Training-Workshop held at President Roxas National High School, President Roxas, Cotabato, joining fellow student writers from different schools of Congressional District 2 to enhance their skills in campus journalism.
"Kapag may chance dapat natin itong sakyan baka kase pag 'di natin ito sinakyan, sa susunod may iba nang nakasakay," Sir Del said, emphasizing the importance of taking opportunities to learn, grow, and develop skills.
The training brought together every young journalist, particularly from elementary and secondary schools, providing them with opportunities to learn and improve their skills in various categories, including news writing, feature writing, scitech writing, editorial writing, column writing, photojournalism, sports writing, and cartooning.
The participants engaged in lectures, discussions, and activities led by SDO Cotabato campus journalism trainers and coaches. The sessions provided the student journalists with new knowledge and techniques that they can apply in producing accurate, timely, and responsible stories for their respective school publications.

Beyond the recognitions, the workshop gave the student journalists the opportunity to interact with fellow journalists and learn from the trainers. The experience also challenged them to improve their skills and fairness and become responsible in their work.
The workshop concluded with the awarding of certificates and recognitions in the respective category rooms, where participants received acknowledgment for their performance and achievements. The RLINHS campus journalist will carry along the new knowledge and valuable experiences from the training. Their participation is proof of their dedication to journalism and their commitment to informing the RLINHS community.
