Makato Integrated School, representing the Schools Division of Aklan made history, hailed as champion in the Cinemunti category during the Regional Festival of Talents 2026 in Roxas City Capiz, March 25-27.

With the theme “Embracing Change, Redefining Excellence,” the Makaton-on team paved the way and introduced the essence of preserving traditions while adapting to modern times through their entry film entitled “I CAN DO IT!” or “Watashi wa Dekiru!”

Composed of six members, each team embraced collaborative teamwork, showing various efforts, dedication, skills and capabilities in the industry of filmmaking.

SDO Aklan also proved their best after bagging four special awards: Best Story, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Actor.

MIS Cinemunti team will represent Region VI in the upcoming National Festival of Talent 2026 in Roxas City, Capiz on April 18-22.

With a sprinkle of love and magic, Makato Integrated School celebrates Valentines Day with Little Master & Miss Valentine Coronation, February 13, 2026 at MIS Covered Court.

The program kicked off with a vibrant grand parade featuring the MIS majorettes and school band. Following the parade, a vivid red procession took the spotlight, presenting the Little Master and Miss Valentine 2026 titleholders—who were preceded by pupils from Kindergarten to Grade 6, dressed in red to match the program's theme.

The event was then followed by the crowning, donning of the royal cape and scepters, pinning of sashes, offering of bouquets and tokens, and awarding of trophies for the members of the royal court.

The success of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of MIS Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) Officers, under the guidance of their adviser, Ms. Ethel M. Torate together with the elementary faculty members.

Makato Integrated School successfully held a school-based mass orientation on Department of Education Order No. 40, Series of 2012, at the MIS Covered Court on January 30.

The program commenced with words of encouragement by the School Principal III, Dr. Ana S. Andrada. Following her opening remarks, the members of the School Learner Rights and Protection Committee were introduced. This was followed by a lecture on understanding the DepEd Child Protection Policy by Mrs. Verna T. Barrientos, Master Teacher I and Guidance Designate for Junior High School.

Furthermore, Mrs. Emma Lou Z. Regalado, Teacher II and the Guidance Designate for Senior High School, comprehensively discussed and focused on identifying and addressing different types of bullying and harassment—such as physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying.

The event successfully educated hundreds of attendees—including students from all grade levels, parents, guardians, and MIS personnel—on how to maintain a secure and safe school environment.

🎊𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐔𝐍𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐊𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐃𝐘𝐀𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐄 𝐈𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐍'𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐓𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Four cluster schools in Makato District, danced and conquered during the Kasadyahan Sa Kalye It Makaton'ong Ati 2026 event in celebration for the Sr. Sto Niño Ati-Atihan Festival, January 13.

Tribu Manlalayag of Cluster 4, consisting of five schools, hailed as the Overall Champion and received a total of P10, 0000 cash prize as well as bagging the Most Discipline Award, Best In Street Dance Award and Best In Concept Award.

Meanwhile, emphasizing the essence and hardwork of mga inungang ati through pangunguma, the Tribu Katueundan of Cluster 2 performed vibrantly showcasing the process of harvesting and planting goods offered to Sr. Sto. Niño, placing Second Runner Up and received P7, 000 cash prize.

Showcasing choreography, talents, and creativity, each performing clusters brought out different concepts and flavors surprising the audience with enthusiasm.

Featuring agricultural heritage, Cluster 3 Tribu Salimono finished as Third Runner Up, focusing the performance on the image and story of their very own Salimono falls, taking home P6, 000.

First Runner Up and Best in Economical Costume, Tribu Masinadyahon of Makato Integrated School, highlighted their performance exposing the joyful spirit of Makaton'on culture, presenting the life of faithful devotees of Sto. Niño.

Bodies smeared with charcoal and paints, the student dancers, displayed vibrant smiles throughout the entire competition.
