MIS Participates in National Simultaneous School Safety Drill
MAKATO, AKLAN β Makato Integrated School participates in National Simultaneous School Safety Drill on September 3, fulfilling its responsibility of making sure of the safety of every student, teacher and other school personnel with the help of the authorities from the PNP, BFP, MDRRMO, PDRRMO, and LGU and MIS Red Cross Youth.
Due to the last minutes on the flow of the drill, an orientation regarding the activity was held at the MIS Covered Court which was supervised by Ms. Anjhielyn Mae C. Cahilig, Officer-in-Charge of Junior High School Department.
As soon as the stress alert rang, the entire school was put under lockdown where all doors and windows were secured, and all learners were silenced inside their respective classrooms.
As soon as the school premises were secured and cleared by the authorities, MISRCY accompanied the learners from their classrooms to their waiting parents. A simulation was also conducted to provide first aid to individuals with emergency needs, with assistance from the available health personnel.
"Through this drill we can practice how to be calm, protect our learners and school personnel and act accordingly to an emergency," said Jerome Cadahing, EOC Finance Coordinator of PDRRMO Aklan, highlighting the importance of the safety drill.
The drill allowed the MIS community to practice how to be calm and follow procedures during an emergency.
