Earlier this morning Phil Smithson and Owie Dela Cruz got to talk to Quark and Anj about failure and so much more on What's Good Today. If you've been wrestling with, sitting with, or resisting failure then this episode is made just for you.

We'll let you know when the podcast is out. ;) In the meantime, we'd love to know your thoughts: are you interested in more stories on failure and why it's okay to welcome the art of messing up? Let us know in the comments!

Thank you, Lennon Group for having us!

Small confession: First Fail/Fail First didn't happen on its original date. We had to pause for a family medical emergency, more than once actually, and kept having to move things.

So here's where we landed. Instead of a room in Makati, this workshop is now happening online, which honestly means more of you can join anyway. Same 3 hours on resilience, creative courage, and why your failures might actually be your greatest superpower.

And one more thing. One of our participants sponsored a spot for someone who wants to join but can't cover the β‚±700 fee. First person to email [email protected] claims it.

Plot twist: you can now fail with us from anywhere. 🌏

First Fail/Fail First is going online! This means the person in Cebu, the one in Singapore, the one in their childhood bedroom in Pampanga, and the one who almost didn't sign up β€” they're all in the same room now.

More cities. More stories. More terrible business ideas. More of the magic that happens when a bunch of strangers decide to be real with each other.

Same experience. Same silliness... but without the Metro Manila commute.

It's past 9pm. The day is winding down, and somewhere between the doomscrolling and the "I should really sleep," your brain goes back to that thing.

The idea you didn't pitch. The risk you didn't take. The thing you're still not sure about. Or maybe you're replaying something that went wrong today.

That's not failure haunting you. That's information you haven't used yet. And the fact that it's still on your mind? That means you're not done with it. So use it.

But be kind to yourself tonight.
Tomorrow is another shot. Another try.

Okay, let's talk about this one: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

We've heard that this quote can feel dismissive. Like it doesn't account for the shots that were just never going to go in, no matter how hard you tried. And that's fair. Not everything works out just because you gave it a shot.

But here's how we see it at The Failure School.

This was never really a quote about winning. It's a quote about information. Every shot you don't take stays a mystery forever. Every shot you DO take, even the ones that miss, teaches you something. What to adjust. What doesn't work. What you're actually capable of when you stop overthinking it.

Failing at something you tried will always teach you more than wondering about something you didn't.

So we want to hear from you. Do you agree with this quote, or do you think it oversimplifies things? We want to hear your thoughts.

You could also share a time you took the shot and missed, and what you learned anyway. We're excited to read every comment.

If your team is afraid to fail, they're also afraid to innovate. Think about it, every great product pivot, every breakthrough idea, every "how did they think of that" moment started with someone willing to try something that might not work. Fear of failure doesn't just hurt individuals. It costs companies.

First Fail/Fail First is our public workshop on July 4 and it's the perfect taster for what we run for teams, companies, and organizations.

If you're in HR or L&D, bring yourself. See what your people could experience.

We asked a room full of people one question: "One word: what does failure make you feel?" This is what they wrote. "End of the world." "I ruined my family name." "Letting myself down." "Unacceptable." But also -- "second chance." "Strengthening." "Opportunity." "Growth." Both things. Same room. Same people. That's the whole point.

Failure doesn't mean one thing, but most of us only hear one version of the story. The scary one. The shameful one. The one that stops us from trying again.

First Fail/Fail First is our workshop that changes that, for good.

No one teaches you how to fail. They teach you to study hard, work harder, plan better. But nobody sits you down and says: here's what to do when it all falls apart anyway.

That's the gap. That's why we built The Failure School.

And on July 4, we're opening the doors to the public for First Fail/Fail First, a 3-hour workshop on resilience, creative thinking, and why your failures might actually be your greatest superpower.

What if your biggest setback is actually a springboard to success?

We're asking - and on July 4, we're going to prove it.

First Fail/Fail First is a 3-hour workshop that turns your fear of failure into a superpower for innovation, leadership, and creative courage.

This isn't a lecture. It's a full-body, laugh-out-loud, genuinely eye-opening experience. You'll walk out with a concrete toolkit - and a completely new relationship with the word "failure."

A room full of people willing to be wrong is one of the most powerful things we've ever witnessed.

The Lennon Group gave us exactly that and walked away with something better than a team-building activity. They walked away with a new way of thinking about every challenge, setback, and pivot that comes next.

Grateful for rooms like this. Let's do it again.

Thank you, The Lennon Group!

P.S. If you'd love for us to roll this out for your team, send an email to [email protected]
