THE METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will propose an underground parking facility as a compensation for the catchment basin it intends to construct in UST to persuade the school administration to approve the project.

In a chance interview, MMDA chairman Romando Artes said the proposed underground facility could address UST’s limited parking capacity by accommodating more vehicles, while the catchment basin would help mitigate flooding on campus.

“Our plan, just to compensate [for the proposed catchment basin in UST], is to build an underground parking facility at the catchment area, one that can accommodate 400 cars,” Artes told The Flame.

AB ALUMNUS SERVES AS PRIVATE PROSECUTOR

LOOK: UST Legal Management alumnus and private prosecutor Benjamin Tolosa Jr. makes his first appearance before the Senate impeachment court on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Tolosa earned his bachelor’s degree in Legal Management from the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters in 2003. He later earned his law degree from the UST Faculty of Civil Law in 2008, ranking seventh in his class and passed the Bar examinations in 2009.

The impeachment trial is in its 21st day, discussing the first article of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte on her misuse of public funds.

ICYMI: THE CAST and filmmakers of Edjop, a biopic about student activist Edgar “Edjop” Jopson, will visit the University in September as part of its campus tour across the country.

The campus event will come to UST on Sept. 2 and will feature exclusive footage from the film, along with an interactive forum between the cast, filmmakers and students ahead of Edjop’s theatrical release.
