We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of the success of Week One of CINEMA OTHERWISE: ALTERNATIVE & EXPERIMENTAL FILM WORKSHOP SERIES. It would not have been possible without you. We hope that Sir Robert Joshua San Luis opened your minds and made you more interested in how films can serve as a platform to challenge dominant structures, heteronormative norms, and mainstream narratives, and to confront the issues around us.

Remember: don't be afraid to make films or art that critiques the world around us (Alternative Cinema). These kinds of creative visions, symbols, and representations shed light upon people and things that need empowering.

That's all for Week One! We hope you're ready: notebooks and pens out, cinephile minds engaged, and hearts open for another session of Cinema Otherwise: Alternative & Experimental Film Workshop Series this coming August 22 & 23, 2026. See you there, film enthusiasts!

WE’RE GOING UNDER. 🌊🎬

ELYEN ELYEN Filmmakers Group is becoming SINESISID—the renewed film collective of Astrolikha Creative Spaces.

This transition is more than a change of name. It is a return to our roots and a clearer understanding of the kind of cinema we want to make.

Astrolikha began with filmmaking in 2017 through Zeus Productions & Arts Team, eventually becoming Astrolikha Films and later ELYEN ELYEN. For almost a decade, our cameras have followed us as we searched for stories, experimented with forms, documented communities, and tried to understand the worlds around us.

Now, we want to go somewhere else.

If Astrolikha explores the worlds above, SINESISID explores the worlds below.

SINE + SISID. SINESISID. SINISISID.

The new name embodies filmmaking as an act of immersion—of going beneath what is immediately visible and sinisisid ang mga kuwento, alaala, katawan, kultura, komunidad, at katotohanang hindi palaging lumulutang sa ibabaw.

SINESISID will continue creating independent narratives, documentaries, experimental films, visual essays, archival projects, screenings, conversations, and opportunities for emerging filmmakers—but with a renewed commitment to curiosity, experimentation, community, and stories that deserve a closer look.

We carry everything we learned as ELYEN ELYEN and Astrolikha Films with us as we enter this next chapter.

Same roots. New depths.
