Eco Forum Project An Education and Advocacy project for the Environment, Eco Tourism, and Climate Change of the BLSD Objectives
1. To keep abreast with other relevant issues.

Education and Advocacy is an essential component of environment, eco-tourism and legislation. Its effective and harmonious application can influence the direction of the eco-tourism program. Educating stakeholders on the ideal way of implementing eco-tourism will foster greater appreciation and partnership towards sustainable use, conservation and protection of the environment. The integration of

eco-tourism at the education levels can instill environmental consciousness among the stakeholders. Likewise, the participation of the private sector will boost the national campaign on eco-tourism operation through the development of tour programs that demonstrate best practices in eco-tourism operation and management. The role of mass media to disseminate information and drum up support is also vital specially in penetrating the rural areas. The media with its expertise and technical facilities can also establish and maintain a dialogue among stakeholders. Likewise, it can promote a positive image of the country as an eco-tourism destination. The production and distribution of information, education and communication (IEC) materials will facilitate understanding of eco-tourism principles among various stakeholders. To broaden the understanding in the importance of education, advocacy and tour exposure as vital aid in legislation and in enhancing the awareness and interest in environment, climate change and eco-tourism;
2. To learn how to interpret locally the significance of current technological approaches and techniques in eco-tourism, environment, climate change education and advocacy;
3. To acquire techniques on how to harmonize and integrate with regional, national and global education and advocacy trends;
4. To acquire innovative but locally doable information and education techniques;
5. To identify appropriate and practical IECs that can be produced and provided locally;

Blessed Good Friday everyone!

- God said in the Book of John, โ€œIt is Finishedโ€ (John 19:30) so that we can rest in Godโ€™s loving grace.

Many have wondered why with such occasion (Jesus dying on the Cross) we call it a Good Friday, and that is because, even we are still sinners, God died for us, so humanity will be save. It is in His dying on the cross, that we were made righteous.

- โ€œFor as by one manโ€™s disobedience (Adam) many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one (Jesus) shall many be made righteousโ€. - Romans 5:19

- Good Friday is a reminder that it took God himself (Jesus dying on the Cross) for us to be made righteous, and not our own works, but Godโ€™s work for all of us, so that we can rest forever and rejoice knowing, that our Father in Heaven made us righteous through our faith in Jesus Christ.

Officer James Gregor L. Asuelo

He was a student leader himself, he was elected 3 consecutive term as Student Government when he was in High School, served the government at the very young age of 16, as He was been elected SK Chairman and consequently elected as regular council member for 9 years, serving as Committee Chairman for Youth and Sports Development, Committee on Finance and Appropriations and the powerful Committee on Ways and Means.

A consistent honor student, graduated valedictorian in High School and was granted Full scholarship grant for Academic Excellence at Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan, as he took up Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

He also join the local and national campaign staff of Former Governor and Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno, Nueva Ecija Former Governor and Congressman Eduardo N. Joson, Former Senate President Pro-Tempore and now House Deputy Speaker and Batangas 6th District Representative Ralph G. Recto and the Presidential Campaing of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

A serial entrepreneur, active investor and social development advocate, He established and founded Bridging Leaders for Sustainable Development Inc. in 2013, Asuelo Management Consultancy in 2015, Impact Southeast Asia Travel and Tours in 2020, and the Asuelo Group Corporation, BALAI Partylist,Asuelo Sustainable Construction and Development Corporation (Asuelo Builders) and the Asian Network for Sustainable Development Inc. in 2023.

A recipient of the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Presidential Medal for Outstanding Leadership and the Oscar S. Moreno Congressional Medal for Leadership, he will be joining the Opening Ceremony of the 7th Localization Initiative for UN-SDGs Education and Advocacy to give his Inspirational Message.

BLSD is excited to host over a 1 hundred in person attendees and online participants of what is considered to be the project's culmination event.
