ng in math at school, he created math worksheets for his son to answer daily on his own. When Takeshi’s math skills significantly improved, Mr. Toru Kumon invited children in his community to study in the same way. Similar to Takeshi, all these children’s academic abilities improved. Toru Kumon to develop the potential of as many children as possible by opening the first Kumon Center in Osaka, Japan. Since then, Kumon has expanded worldwide, including the Philippines, and has helped millions of students excel academically and unveil their true potential. IN THE PHILIPPINES
Kumon was established in the Philippines on August 15, 1996, and has since shared the Kumon Method with thousands of Filipino children through our 300+ Centers nationwide. We offer two programs: Math and Reading. The Math Program aims to help build and advance students’ mathematical analysis and logical thinking abilities by honing their calculation skills.
