Lighting portraits with artificial sources has long been a challenge for many photographers, often serving as the key obstacle to advancing their skill level. Misconceptions about techniques in strobe lighting can lead to mistakes and hinder progress. Mastering lighting with the correct foundations is what sets advanced photographers apart from beginners.
With over 25 years of experience and a deep passion for working with lights, Ken is eager to share his knowledge with you.
Let's stop capturing and start creating wonderful photos!

Pricing not only determines your value but also the market segment you belong to. Almost each market segment has some sort of price brackets, and if you want to service a certain market bracket you start at the low end of that bracket and not the lower bracket.
Let’s put watches as an example, all these do the same function, tell time, similar to all photographers we all take photos:
Are you a no brand watch that you can get under 500?
Are you the budget oriented one like a Timex or Alba, that’s in the 10,000 or less?
Are you mid model one those under 100,000 like Oris, Hamilton, Seiko and etc.?
Are you the higher end models above 150,000 like Rolex, Omega and more?
Now imagine these brands on how you do your pricing as a photographer, which market segment do you want to cater? Do you think by starting at the Timex price range, that eventually you can increase your price to go against brands like Oris and other mid tier ones. Very highly unlikely, even if you do very good in your work, same as the brand, one will not go out to spend 100,000 on a Timex watch, no matter how good the watch is, because perception of the brand is cheap (good and reliable).
The only way one can climb 1 or 2 market segment is by doing a rebrand, something that is not cheap to do, you need a marketing budget to do so, same as what Toyota did to sell a high end vehicle in the US market, they created Lexus.
So to those still thinking that you should lower your price to enter the market just to get your name known, think again, climbing a market bracket is not as easy. You will be spoiling your clients with low price good quality work, do you think your clients are willing to pay you double (5k to 10k) just because you are getting better and better? Now if you will add 1k a year to your pricing, that will take you 5 years, by that time your style of shooting can be not what the market is looking for anymore.
If you are happy and successfully making a business selling Timex, then good for you, anyone can survive in each market segment, just make sure your pricing is sustainable.
At the end of the day, your pricing doesn’t affect me directly, for we probably service different market segment. Do you think Seiko cares when unbranded watches in Lazada are buy 1 take 10?
*watch enthusiast, let’s not get too technical with the price ranges of the watches.

As (online) sellers, photos of your food will determine how your consumer see the value of your product, so if your photos are low-quality, your product will also be perceived as such.
Learning how to shoot properly, not only make your food photos more appetizing, but this will also make your photos more consistent, which is key to building your brand.
We won't go too technical with this class so even those without a background in photography won't get lost during the workshop.
This is open to all (Nikon camera not required), even mobile phone camera users.

I think No. 1 hits the nail perfectly in the head:
1. “I’M A NATURAL LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER.”
Translation: “I never actually learned how to work with strobes and artificial light.”
Come join one of my future seminars, so you can stop using this excuse :)
