MAKATI CITY, Philippines — August 31, 2026 — Philippine Society for Quality (PSQ) Chair of Advisory Council Dr. Rey B. Fremista led the latest session of the Next-Gen Quality Playbook Series, delivering the webinar “From Efficiency to Agility: The Next Evolution of Operational Excellence” via Zoom.

Focusing on Agility and Innovation, the third pillar of the Next-Gen Quality framework, Dr. Fremista challenged quality professionals and organizational leaders to rethink operational excellence for an environment defined by faster change, compressed planning cycles, continuous feedback, and emerging risks.

A central message of the session was that efficiency and agility are not opposites. While efficiency strengthens stability, waste reduction, and repeatability, agility enables speed, learning, and adaptation. Dr. Fremista introduced practical concepts including the Agile Quality Loop, adaptive standards, structured experimentation, shorter feedback cycles, and empowered decision-making.

As an added learning resource, Dr. Fremista provided participants with a copy of his Next-Gen Quality Playbook White Paper, “Designing Excellence Around People, Data, and Purpose: A Five-Pillar Framework for Adaptive, Human-Centered Excellence.” The white paper allows participants to further explore the framework and translate its principles into their own organizational contexts beyond the webinar.

Participants were encouraged to start small by identifying delays, running controlled experiments, learning from results, and turning successful practices into new habits. The session concluded with a compelling reminder for quality professionals: “The fastest quality system is the one that learns fastest.”

Through the Next-Gen Quality Playbook Series, PSQ continues to advance conversations on how quality and operational excellence must evolve to help organizations remain resilient, responsive, and relevant amid a rapidly changing business environment.
