As members of the Makati High community, let’s make a pledge to not just watch time pass this year, but to be active participants in our society. Kaisa ang buong Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd) sa paggunita sa kabayanihan ni Dr. Jose Rizal ngayong Disyembre 30, sa pagdiriwang ng Rizal Day.

Sa ika-129 na anibersaryo ng kanyang pagpanaw, ating alalahanin hindi lamang ang kanyang sakripisyo, kundi isabuhay ang mga aral na kanyang iniwan: ang malalim na pagmamahal sa bayan, paninindigan sa katotohanan, at pananalig sa kapangyarihan ng edukasyon.

Today, we commemorate 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎 and honor the legacy of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥, whose writings and ideals awakened the Filipino spirit and shaped our nation. His life reminds us that 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 for country can spark meaningful change. 🇵🇭

May his sacrifices inspire us to think critically and serve our nation with purpose.

RIZAL'S LIFE TRIVIA🇵🇭⚖️

When Rizal was still a young boy, his mother, Doña Teodora, was unjustly accused and arrested. It was a traumatic event for the family, but one detail made it sting even more.

According to Rizal’s own account, the official who arrested her wasn't a stranger—he was a frequent guest in their home who had broken bread with them.

In Rizal's own words:

"The men who arrested her pretended to be friends and had often been our guests. Ever since then, child though I was, I have distrusted friendship."

This betrayal taught the young hero a harsh lesson about trust long before he wrote his novels.

RIZAL'S LIFE TRIVIA🇵🇭⚖️

In 1880, Jose Rizal entered a literary competition in honor of Cervantes. His allegory, "The Council of the Gods," was judged the best entry by an all-Spanish panel, beating out prominent Spanish writers.

However, the victory turned sour. According to Rizal’s own account, when he appeared on stage to accept his award and the crowd realized the winner was a Filipino, he was hissed off the stage instead of applauded.

Even in the face of discrimination, his talent could not be denied. ✍️✨

This October, the Makati High School Social Studies Club honors the rich heritage, enduring resilience, and invaluable contributions of our Indigenous Peoples. Their traditions, wisdom, and deep connection to the land remind us of the importance of preserving our cultural roots and protecting their rights.

Let us stand in solidarity with our IP communities — to celebrate their identity, uphold the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA), and work together for an inclusive and empowered future. ✊🏽🌱

They don’t just teach lessons; they make history, shape society, and sometimes even give quizzes that feel like world wars. 😅📖

This National Teachers’ Month (Sept. 5 – Oct. 5, 2025), we salute the real MVPs of every classroom—our teachers! 🍎💡

Without them, we’d all still be trying to find X… and probably never figure out where Mesopotamia is. 😉

Local government units advise students and residents to stay safe and updated for further announcements— keep safe and dry, everyone !!

🇵🇭✨ ISANG DIWA, ISANG LAHI, ISANG BAYANIHAN ✨🇵🇭

Ngayong National Heroes Day 2025, sabay-sabay nating alalahanin at pahalagahan ang lahat ng ating mga bayani—mula sa mga nakipaglaban para sa ating kalayaan hanggang sa mga modernong bayani ng ating panahon. 🙌

Hindi lamang ang ating mga ninuno na nagbuwis ng buhay para sa bayan ang dapat kilalanin, kundi maging ang mga g**o, sundalo, pulis, magsasaka, manggagamot, at bawat Pilipinong nagsusumikap para sa ikauunlad ng ating bansa. ❤️

Ang tunay na bayani ay hindi lang nakikita sa kasaysayan, kundi sa araw-araw na sakripisyo, malasakit, at pagkakaisa. 🌟

Sa g**o na nagtuturo ng kaalaman 📚

Sa sundalo at pulis na nagbabantay ng ating seguridad 🫡

Sa manggagamot at nars na nag-aalaga ng may sakit 👩‍⚕️

Sa magsasaka at manggagawa na nagsusustento ng ating pangangailangan 🌾

At sa bawat Pilipino na handang makiisa at tumulong, kahit sa simpleng paraan. 🤝

Sama-sama tayong maging bayani sa maliit o malaking paraan. 💪
Dahil kung iisa ang ating diwa, iisa ang ating lahi, at iisa ang ating bayanihan—walang imposible para sa isang Bagong Pilipinas. 🇵🇭✨

👉🏼 Kaya ngayong Agosto 25, 2025, ipagmalaki nating tayo ay Pilipino at patuloy na maging inspirasyon sa isa’t isa. 🙏
