Hey, everyone. UniverCity will temporarily halt its programs for the next two years. We really enjoyed meeting and helping young people over the past years since we've started. To close out, below is another testimonial from one of our UniverCity mentees.

Jiwan Tai, UP economics student:

"UniverCity is awesome! I like it because it’s somehow merit based as such gives opportunities (e.g. guidance through a relevant mentor) to students seriously pursuing their passion; sometimes all we need is someone to believe in us, and having a mentor does just that and more, like giving you that extra push and passing on wisdom you can’t ever find in any book."

Keep on learning, keep on teaching,
UniverCity Philippines

Read UniverCity mentee Neil Chua's testimonial on how his UniverCity mentor helped him land an offer from a top global investment bank!

"The mentoring relationship with my UniverCity mentor was supposed to last for only one year, after which he would move on to his next batch of mentees. However, thankfully, my mentor went above and beyond and offered his constant guidance and support.

A few months after helping me launch my career in the Philippine private equity space, my mentor reached out to me and let me in on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity abroad with a leading global investment bank. I went for the opportunity with my mentor lending his help every step of the way – from resume building to mock interviews. Also, knowing that the mentoring relationship isn’t one-way, I put in the necessary heart and effort to make the interactions a success. The interview process was difficult, but with enough effort and my mentor’s guidance, I was able to land an offer!

I’m certain that without my mentor’s continuous guidance, I couldn’t have made it here – one huge step closer to achieving my dreams. I will forever be grateful to my mentor and to the UniverCity program for helping me in my pursuit. It is my hope that, someday, I would be in a position to offer help to the community just as this program has helped me."

Thank you Christian Lauron, partner at SGV & Co., and his team for hosting UniverCity mentors and mentees for dinner at the Bayanihan Room! We all learned a lot about data science & algorithms, quant trading, government & developmental work - and how SGV is making inroads in all of those areas.

Congratulations to the 37 applicants who are now mentees of UniverCity mentors! We sent acceptance letters to mentees in the evening of November 20.

We would like to thank everyone who applied to our mentoring program. It is unfortunate that we can't accept all of the applicants. With over 100 applicants vs 17 mentors, we can only accept a limited number of applicants. UniverCity will make sure to expand its mentoring program so we can accept a larger number of mentees next time.

Mentee application for UniverCity's pro-bono mentoring program is now closed. We would like to thank everyone who applied and supported the program! This year easily blew away our record last year with over 100 applications for just 17 mentors. We had people asking if we have mentors in other fields, such as computer science. It is unfortunate that we don't, but next year we definitely will. If you want to see mentors in a specific career path or area for the next intake, please message us!

In the coming days, UniverCity and the mentors will be reviewing the applications. You will be notified by November 20 if you are matched with a mentor. Good luck to all the applicants!

Today is the deadline for mentee applications!

Jumpstart your professional career by becoming a mentee of established professionals. Now on its second year, UniverCity’s pro-bono mentoring program matches exemplary students and recent graduates with established professionals. With several years of work experience, UniverCity mentors are eager to share their knowledge, network, and experience. Since the inception of the program, we have helped mentees clarify their career goals, polish their CVs, connect with industry experts, and get through the recruitment process for tough-to-get positions at leading Philippine institutions.

This year we have a prominent lineup of mentors with backgrounds in finance, public sector, architecture, real estate, film, communication, arts, marketing, and supply chain management!

Applications are open to 2nd to 4th year undergraduate students and recent graduates. You can access the application form through the link below. Towards the end of the form, you will be asked to choose your preferred UniverCity mentor. So make sure to visit our website to get to know the mentors!
