Good Practices in Waste Management from Indonesia and the Philippines
During the recent DELGOSEA workshop in Siem Reap, the focus was on waste management worldwide, with participants learning from international experts and each other how to improve solid waste management in their own communities. The second article in our series on the different experiences looks at good practices and experiences from the Philippines and Indonesia.

An interesting and useful initiative by ASEAN:
The Global Child Forum on Southeast Asia, held in Kuala Lumpur this year, was a day of inspiration and action on children's rights in the region. Specifically, the Forum focused on the role of business to be a driver of change in the lives of children. ASEAN Secretary-General, H.E. Le Luong Minh spoke at the forum about the region’s multi-sectoral initiatives to protect children and the importance of cooperating with the private sector to advance children’s rights. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) held its 28th and 29th Summit at the National Convention Centre (NCC) in Vientiane, Lao PDR last 06-08 September 2016 with a theme of “Turning Vision into Reality for a Dynamic ASEAN Community”. The Summit was attended by heads of State from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam.
