After a 2-hour meeting today, May 18, 2026, UniTVET extends gratitude to Sec Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez for his precious time to patiently listen to the concerns of the private TVET sector, for providing us the answers to our questions, for the willingness to support UniTVET’s projects and CBP initiatives, and most of all for giving us hope and inspiration to continue to lead the private TVET sector in advancing skills for a future-ready TVET.

ACQUIRE2026: Charting the Next Chapter of UniTVET

As the TVET Universe embarks on a new journey in 2026 and looks ahead to 2027, the Unified TVET of the Philippines bids a heartfelt farewell while embracing an inspiring new beginning. With deep gratitude and respect, UniTVET honors the leadership of Rev. Fr. Onofre G. Inocencio, Jr., SDB, whose eight-year presidency strengthened institutional unity across the three TVET zones of Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon, expanded national partnerships, and amplified the voice of the private TVET sector nationwide. His legacy of steady guidance, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to quality-assured, harmonized, and inclusive TVET - anchored in strong academe-government-industry partnerships - has left a lasting imprint on the organization and its members.

As he concludes his term, we celebrate not an ending but the enduring legacy of service, integrity, and vision he leaves behind. Indeed, this is a celebration of continuity, for Fr. Jun has just been appointed by the Board as the first Chairperson of the newly established UniTVET Advisory Council cm Industry Council. His new role will be both challenging and vital to UniTVET’s continued success, as he works alongside the new leadership in advancing external affairs, global partnerships and networking, benchmarking initiatives, policy advocacy and reforms, industry council matters, and competency standards and curriculum development. UniTVET warmly embraces him in this new office as a significant arm of the organization.

At the same time, UniTVET proudly welcomes Dr. John Thomas C. Franco of Mindanao as its new President. His assumption of office marks a historic milestone in the governance and structure of the organization - the beginning of a rotational presidency among the four TVET zones: Mindanao, Visayas, Luzon North, and Luzon South. This structure was designed to ensure balanced representation, shared leadership, and strengthened national cohesion within the sector.

Under Dr. Franco’s leadership, UniTVET launches ACQUIRE2026, his agenda for 2026–2027, which sets forth a forward-looking framework positioning UniTVET for greater impact:

- A – Access to Opportunities and Growth: Expanding programs, scholarships, and industry linkages for members.
- C – Cooperation, Coopetition, and Competency: Fostering alliances while encouraging healthy performance standards.
- Q – Quality Assurance: Strengthening compliance, standards alignment, and institutional excellence.
- U – Unified Goal: Reinforcing solidarity across regions and institutions.
- I – Innovation: Promoting digital and future-ready skills through capability building and enrichment.
- R – Research, Sports, Recreation, and Fun: Nurturing holistic development and knowledge-sharing among members.
- E – External Relations: Expanding UniTVET’s reach through local and international partnerships, linkages, and networking.

Through ACQUIRE 2026, UniTVET is poised to empower its members with clearer direction, stronger advocacy, enhanced institutional capacity, and wider access to growth platforms for 2026–2027. The agenda signals not only continuity but acceleration—moving from consolidation to expansion, from representation to influence, and from preparation to ex*****on.

As we thank Fr. Inocencio, Jr. for his years of devoted service and entrust the future of UniTVET to Dr. Franco’s capable leadership, we do so with confidence that UniTVET’s next chapter will be defined by unity, innovation, and measurable progress for the entire TVET community in One Voice, One Dream, One TVET.
