AHA! Learning Center started as a free afterschool program in Makati back in 2009. You can help us make this a reality.

Our mission is to champion empathy-informed
learning system which addresses
pressing educational problems for low
performing but high potential Filipino
students with learning poverty. Since then we have served over 19,000 students - giving them the most number of free after-school learning hours (6-8 per week, 200-300 hours a year) in the entire country. More than helping our students get goo

Equipping Tarlac’s Educators with the Right Tools! 🌟

We recently concluded our 5-day Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) and Mentor-Monitor Training Workshop in Tarlac!

Through an amazing partnership with the SDO Tarlac Province HRD and the Provincial Government of Tarlac, AHA Learning Center successfully trained 395 teachers and 80 school leaders. The workshops covered practical TaRL Literacy and Numeracy strategies, the importance of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and effective monitoring tools to help school heads track progress.

At its core, TaRL serves as the perfect companion to the ARAL Law (RA 12028). It equips our educators with a dynamic toolkit to personalize their remediation sessions, giving every learner the exact support they need to thrive. 💛

With the ongoing learning crisis in the Philippines, marginalized sectors like the Badjao community are often the hardest hit, facing unique barriers to foundational literacy and numeracy. Addressing this massive educational gap requires targeted, inclusive, and culturally responsive interventions.

To answer this call, the Nano Nagle Learning Center and AHA Learning Center teamed up to conduct an essential EILS Training. This initiative was designed to prepare our community educators for a specialized remediation program tailored for Badjao elementary learners, in collaboration with Alaska Elementary School-DepEd Region 7

We had the privilege of training 14 dedicated individuals, including 7 university volunteers, 3 Badjao community teachers, 3 Presentation sisters, and 1 coordinator.

One of the most inspiring moments of the 2-day event was watching the trainees translate and demonstrate Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) activities using the Sinama language. By contextualizing the lessons to their mother tongue, we are ensuring that the intervention directly tackles the learning gap in a way that truly connects with the students. 🌊📖

Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Let’s continue to fight the learning crisis and bridge the gap together!

From preparation to actual deployment!

UP Cebu Ugnayan Ng Pahinungód, in partnership with AHA Learning Center, organized a volunteer training at the UP Cebu AS Conference Hall last January 2026.

We were thrilled to see 26 passionate student volunteers from various colleges step up to the challenge, fully supported by 31 dedicated faculty and staff members! This training was specially designed to equip our volunteers for their Numeracy tutorial sessions with our partner, Barrio Luz Elementary School.

The training is already bearing fruit! The tutorial program officially launched last February 4, and these amazing volunteers are now teaching and guiding students every Wednesday afternoon. ➕➖

The learning crisis is a massive challenge, but it's one we can tackle together. It truly takes the support of everyone—students, educators, partners, and the whole community—to build a brighter future for our learners. Thank you for your commitment to addressing this crisis. Padayon, mga Iskolar ng Bayan! ❤️💚

Who says gaming is just a distraction? At AHA Sunrise Makati, we see it as a platform for learning, strategy, and growth!

We recently hosted an epic Mobile Legends Game Day for our Achievers and local ML players. We were incredibly thrilled to be joined by members of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and amazing ML caster Brigida (Bridgitte Ramos), who guided and hyped up our achievers throughout the session! 🔥

Beyond the screen, this event helped break the stigma around gaming. It became a unique space for our Achievers to practice their Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in real-time—learning how to manage frustration, communicate under pressure, and show true sportsmanship through friendly matches. GGWP! 🤝

For this , we’re reminiscing about the beautiful colors and creativity from our Arts Month Celebration last February 28 in AHA Makati Sunrise!

Our AHA Makati Sunrise Achievers came together for the celebration of Arts Month with the powerful theme, “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan, Kagitingan, at Bayanihan.” They showcased their amazing talents through:

📿 Bracelet making;
🖌️ Community painting;
🪁 Kite-making; and
🎤 An incredible Open Mic session!

In many marginalized communities, access to art programs and creative spaces is limited, often viewed as a luxury rather than a vital part of learning. Events like this are crucial because they provide a safe, accessible platform for our kids to express themselves, build confidence, experience art, and improve their social emotional learning! ❤️

Making Saturdays Count for Our Achievers! 🚀

Our BWSM Achievers are now on their second Saturday of Tutor Kita sessions with our dedicated Tutor Kita Champions from Far Eastern University. The energy just keeps growing, with each session filled with learning, laughter, and exciting math drills. 🎉

It’s a beautiful reminder that every learning journey is easier and more joyful when we support each other. 🌟

Thank you, FEU, for generously sharing your time and heart with our community. 🙏

With the current challenges in Philippine education, targeted intervention is more important than ever. 🌟

At our Better World Tondo center, we are actively reaching out to our partner public school's students who are struggling academically. Through our Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) remediation sessions, we help them rebuild their foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

In these photos, our Achievers are in the middle of a TaRL Numeracy class. By using the "sticks and bundles" method with popsicle sticks, we are helping them concretely understand place value and solving basic operations. When we teach at the right level using the right tools, students thrive! ✨

We are deeply grateful to the San Miguel Foundation for championing this cause with us. Thank you for continuously supporting our interventions and investing in the future of our Filipino Youth. 🇵🇭
