ROSARY NOVENA: DAY 4

What is the best advice for a pilgrim?

To know why you are going!

Often before a pilgrimage, pilgrims will be advised to clarify exactly what they are praying for. Sometimes they will even write it down before they go and keep it in their pockets. Why do this?

Pilgrimages are often difficult. Knowing why they are going on pilgrimage can keep them motivated to finish amidst difficulties and frustrations. It helps to focus their attention, keeps the pilgrimage focused on God, and helps them to hear God’s voice

ROSARY NOVENA: DAY 3

Did you know you can get a blessing right from Jesus Himself?

It’s true – Jesus Himself said it! And this Consecration to the Sacred Heart is a great place to start.

Jesus said to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the French nun who saw visions of the Sacred Heart, that He will “bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.” If you journey with us through all 54 days and display an image of Jesus’ Sacred Heart you will have both exposed and honored His Heart. And Jesus promises to bless your home!

Not only that, He also promised, “I will establish peace in their homes.” Who doesn’t want that?

Jesus said to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the French nun who saw visions of the Sacred Heart, that He would “bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.” If you journey with us through all 54 days and display an image of Jesus’ Sacred Heart, you will have both exposed and honored His Heart. ROSARY NOVENA: DAY 2

Have you ever wondered why Jesus’ Sacred Heart is shown with flames?

That’s how Jesus Himself showed it to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque! The image of the Sacred Heart was not dreamed up by a painter or artist. It was shown in a vision granted to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun in the 1600s. In that vision, Jesus said, “My heart is so inflamed with love for men.”

Imagine that: Jesus’ heart is burning with love for you!

During this 54-Day Rosary Novena, we’ll be exploring the origins of this devotion, the mystical visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the 12 Promises of the Sacred Heart, and more. Every day I'll also include a snippet from Pope Francis’ final encyclical on the Sacred Heart. It’s titled Dilexit Nos, which translates to “He has loved us.” (October 2024)

Perhaps one of the most important promises of the Sacred Heart is “[Jesus] will establish peace in their homes.” We constantly receive prayer intentions from listeners about struggling families and children who have left the faith. Who better to entrust them to than Jesus and His Sacred Heart?

ROSARY NOVENA: DAY 1

Did you know a pope consecrated the whole world to the Sacred Heart?

Welcome to our 54-Day Rosary Novena to the Sacred Heart! With the passing of Pope Francis and the coming election of a new Pope, there has never been a better time to encounter the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our Church and our families need our prayers!

In times of change the Church turns to the Sacred Heart.

During the Counter Reformation (1600s AD), as Catholics sought to strengthen the Faith, the Sacred Heart was honored in paintings and statues. During the French Revolution, the Catholic resistance used the Sacred Heart image on their flags and uniforms. And in 1899, Pope Leo XIII responded to anti-religious movements by consecrating the whole world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This consecration has been renewed by every pope since!

Jesus promised those who honored His Sacred Heart that “I will establish peace in their homes.” By consecrating your family to the Sacred Heart, you are building up your family – your ‘domestic church.’ And by strengthening your ‘domestic church’, you are building the future of our Catholic Church!
