With as little as P50/day, with discipline in investing, your investment could turn into millions.

Look at your expenses right now and you might find a regular expense that you can live without.

Regularly invest that amount and watch your investment grow!

What is FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early)?

It just basically means saving up 25x times your annual expenses (income if you don’t have baseline), investing it where it gains at least 4-5% annually and drawing 4-5% afterwards giving you an unlimited pot of money as long as you live.

The goal is not “retiring early” but rather putting you in a position that employment is optional as soon as possible. This is the only real state of financial security and independence. This is usually achieved by saving and investing 50-70% of your income.

A rough calculation for someone who earns 50k a month:

Annual income is 600,000
600,000 x 25 = 15,000,000 of growing investments at least 4%
Draw down per year = 600,000/ year for life

There may be several reasons why you’d want to do this. Personally, I want to do things that matter to me such as joining NGOs, saving abused women and children, joining animal rescues, educating people, etc. I want to continue learning things I’m really passionate about such as travelling the world. However, I’m no martyr. My family’s future is much more important than all of these. The only way for me to achieve these is to pursue FIRE.
