The Department of Tourism – Office of Industry Manpower Development (DOT-OIMD) expresses its deepest condolences and prayers to the family of Ms. Evelyn Balmeo Salire, Secretary General of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA).

Ms. Evelyn’s passion and dedication are instrumental in the success of the DOT-PRA partnership for the uplifting of micro and small enterprises through the Micro Retail Tourism program. Her legacy in retail tourism will always be cherished and remembered.

We pray that she rests well in the arms of our Lord. She will be missed.

Micro Retail Tourism 2.0: Essential Innovations and Product Enhancement Workshop at Paras Beach Resort, Mambajao, Camiguin.

ICYMI. Last August 17, 2023, The DOT -PRA Micro Retail Tourism Team went to Alaminos City, Pangasinan for another run of MRT 2.0 Training on Essential Innovations and Product Enhancement for MSMEs. The training was attended by participants from farm tourism, souvenir shops, LGUs and other support groups.

DOT Assistant Secretary Maria Rica Bueno and OIMD- OIC- Director Arlene Alipio were also present to grace the event.

The training team was composed of PRA Secretery General Evelyn Balmeo Salire, Asec. Gen BM Miranda, the Rockstar Trainer Mr. Francisco de la Cruz, Jr., Ms. Jan Esmane Maldonado and Ms. Aenn Nuqui of DOT- Office of Industry Manpower Development.

Special thanks to our DOT Region 1 Office led by RD Jeff Ortega and his very supportive Chief, Ms. Gaye Gapas and staff, Ms. Jess Laudencia and Karen, and to the Provincial Government of Pangasinan for their unwavering support to the program.

Indeed, MRT 2.0 Pangasinan leg was a raging success!

ICYMI. The DOT-Office of Industry Manpower Development (OIMD), in partnership with the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA), conducted the Micro Tourism Retail 2.0: Essential Innovations and Product Enhancement Workshop at Best Western Plus Ivy Wall Resort -Panglao on August 24, 2023. 32 participants mostly MSMEs attended the workshop, which aims to improve the quality of products and services of micro and small enterprises to better serve their customers and buyers and to promote inclusive growth and equal opportunities to smaller tourism related enterprises.
