As of August 23, 2026, the request for Uniform Exemption for freshmen students has been approved by VP Gil Tabbu. This extension was raised through the concerns and feedback submitted by students through the Uniform Status and Monitoring Form. Freshmen students must finally secure their prescribed university uniform on or before the new provided deadline, September 4, 2026. Please be guided accordingly.

“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿” – Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

Today, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟭, we commemorate Ninoy Aquino Day, honoring the life and sacrifice of 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 “𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆” 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗿., a former senator and prominent opposition leader whose courage and love for the Filipino people became a symbol of democracy and freedom.

Through his unwavering courage, he stood against oppression and chose to fight for the rights and future of his fellow Filipinos, becoming a martyred symbol of democracy even when it meant putting his own life at risk. 🎗️✊ His sacrifice reminds us that true patriotism is not only found in words—but also in the courage to stand for what is right and uphold the truth.

May we continue to remember his sacrifice and carry forward the values he stood for.

Last August 8, 2026, Student Leaders gathered to discuss the Office Reports, General Plan of Action, and Office House Rules as we prepare for the Academic Year ahead.

In the interest of transparency, we are sharing the agenda and attendance of the 1st Student Council Assembly for the reference of the student body. The minutes of the meeting will remain internal at this time, while succeeding council matters and appropriate records will be communicated and made accessible in accordance with established policies and procedures.

As we move forward, the University Student Council, including USC Executive Board, SJC Magistrates, SC Legislators, COSEL Commissioners, CCC Elective Officers, and CSC Executive Officers, remains committed to ensuring that its work is conducted with openness, accountability, and responsibility in service of the student body.

The UMak Office of the Student Regent (OSR) opens its doors to every Heron through the upcoming Student Consultations—an avenue created to listen, understand, and bring the student experience closer to the heart of student governance.

Through these consultations, we hope to create a space where Herons can freely share their perspectives and engage in dialogue grounded in the realities of our student community. Your participation allows us to see beyond policies and numbers and understand the people and experiences behind them.

As of August 18, 2026, 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟭% 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 has been reached. The strength of our advocacy depends on the strength of our participation. By taking a few minutes to answer the survey, you help ensure that student voices are heard, represented, and translated into action.

We invite every Heron to take part—not only by answering the survey or attending onsite consultations, but by moving with us toward this avenue and for helping us build movements that reflect the Herons we are today and the University we hope to become.

[Advisory 2026-030] In accordance with Malacañang Memorandum Circular No. 131 and the City Government of Makati advisory, the University of Makati will observe the following guidelines tomorrow, August 20, 2026, due to the continuing severe weather conditions.

1. All classes across all levels will continue to be conducted via online synchronous modality.

2. For students with RLE and Internship, please note that your attendance will depend on the guidelines and operational status of your respective Host Training Establishments.

3. Administrative offices will operate under an alternative work arrangement. However, unit heads may deploy a skeletal workforce or allow personnel with urgent deliverables to report on campus as needed.

Personnel reporting on-site must coordinate with the Human Resource Management Office, and those who need transportation assistance are advised to coordinate directly with the Transport Services Unit.

Please prioritize your health and safety. Stay vigilant, keep your emergency lines ready, and continue following our official communication channels for further updates.
