UMak Community Unites for ‘Tugon’ Donation Drive for Makati Fire Victims

The University of Makati (UMak) community came together on February 14, 2026, at the Carmona Sports Complex for Tugon, a donation drive supporting families affected by the January 24 fire in Barangay Tejeros, Makati City.

Students, faculty, and campus organizations pooled resources and extended essential donations in a collective show of solidarity. The initiative was led by former USC Chairperson Einnor Asuncion and Vice Chairperson Maxene Mendoza, in partnership with the Institute of Imaging Health Sciences Student Council, Institute of Psychology Student Council, and Allied Health Sciences IPE Research Society.

With sponsorship from the Institute of Imaging Health Sciences, headed by Dr. Gerome C. Abenilla, MSRT, the drive reflected the UMak community’s shared commitment to service—demonstrating how collective action can deliver timely relief to communities in crisis.
