The mind is like a parachute—it works best when it’s open. 🪂 That’s why the Safety Delta Dialogue encourages open and honest communication among the crew. 💬
We’d like to commend Uni-Tankers’ Fionia Swan for completing the Dialogue stage! 👏 By bringing their crew together to talk, listen, and learn from each other, they uncovered insights that might have otherwise been missed.
This kind of communication is crucial because, sometimes, it’s easy to believe everything is fine—especially when there are no accidents.
But real safety isn’t just about the absence of accidents. It’s about the presence of awareness and trust. ✅ And that starts with an open dialogue.
Thanks to Fionia Swan for sharing their ! With a shared understanding of their safety performance, they are now ready to implement their targeted development plans.

Driving improved performance isn’t a one-person job – it’s a team effort. Props to Naviera Transoceánica’s BT Chira for being a good example of collaboration! 🙌
📷 BT Chira’s photos show the crew engaged in a dialogue discussing their Crew Safety Diagnosis report, which directs their attention to areas they need to improve or reinforce.
This is what the Safety Delta Dialogue stage is all about – sharing ideas and opinions, openly and honestly.
And that 👆 is where real improvement begins. When both crew members and officers come together at the table, different perspectives can be an eye-opener – even for seasoned seafarers.
Thanks to Captain Tomas Gomero Derteano and the whole crew for sharing their !

“We believe job evaluations often provide something useful about safety.” – Insight from TORM Amorina’s reflections during their Safety Delta dialogue. 📝💬
Kudos to the crew for recognising the value of regular job evaluations or work debriefs! 👏 Toolbox talks might be more common for some, but debriefs also bring out crucial lessons we can’t afford to miss.
While others skip work debriefs with excuses like…
🛑“The job went well” or
🛑“We’ve done it so many times”
✅ TORM Amorina takes advantage of the opportunity to reflect on the job, discuss what went well and what didn’t, and share improvement ideas.
📷 In the shared by Captain Vincent Borinaga, the crew are engaged in the Dialogue stage – another reflection tool that sparks ideas for safer jobs.
Shoutout to TORM Amorina for turning their experiences into new learnings! 🙌

Can training make your crew stronger as a team? On board Uni-Tankers Alsia Swan, safety training doesn’t just build skills – it builds camaraderie! 🤝
The crew completed their first Safety Delta Development stage, where they experienced learning not as a solo work, but as a shared experience.
Through the Safety Delta Learning Library, they had a wide choice of interactive learning activities designed to foster teamwork and connection. Unlike other learning materials, these Safety Delta activities encourage crew members to collaborate. It’s a fun way to learn and socialise across ranks at the same time! 🙌
📷 In the photos shared by Captain Mariusz Smialkowski, you can see Alsia Swan’s crew in action, fully engaged in practical exercises and flashcard games.
Big applause to the crew for making safety something they actively work on together! 👏

How do you best learn about your vessel’s real safety performance? On board TORM Venture, they have a platform – a safe space – where everyone has a voice in safety discussions. 💬
In TORM Venture’s photos, you can see the crew engaged in the Safety Delta Dialogue stage.
In this stage, crew members talk about their safety culture, share opinions, and identify areas for improvement. It's a good opportunity to gain insights into matters that might not typically surface in regular meetings.
What makes the Safety Delta Dialogue special is that it’s a platform for open and trusting communication. It empowers the crew to speak up and encourages them to be more reflective of their own and others’ safety behaviours.
So, we want to commend TORM Venture for engaging in the Dialogue stage. You’re a good example of making safety a true team effort! 👏🙌

Leadership is less about ranks and more about behaviours. ✴️ That’s how it is on board TORM Gitte, where no rank is above safety and everyone is accountable! 🙌
The crew recently completed their Safety Delta dialogue, highlighting an interesting point about their crew being empowered to speak up about unsafe acts – regardless of who’s involved.
“Normalising intervention removes the pressure of hierarchy on board. There’s no barrier between ranks. Superiors are open and appreciate if crew members stop them from doing unsafe acts,” the crew mentioned.
Well done, TORM Gitte! 👏 You’re living proof that anyone can be a leader on board, and that true leaders leave their egos at the door to prioritise safety.
Thanks to Captain Severo Mesa II and the whole crew for inspiring us with their . Check out some snapshots below. 👇

“Communication is what makes a team a team.” ⭐ Join us in acknowledging TORM Australia and their efforts to build effective teams despite the inevitable communication barriers on board.
The crew completed their first Safety Delta cycle for 2024, and among the things they developed was effective team communication. Here’s the fun part – they practised the key behaviours in an interactive game!
But why is team communication so important? Why take the time out of your busy schedule to develop this soft skill?
The reality is that the safe completion of jobs on board depends not only on the team’s technical competence, but also on their effective interaction before, during, and after each job. And the crew of TORM Australia recognise that! 👏
Thanks to Captain Danny Mathew and the whole crew for sharing their ! Catch a glimpse of these moments in the photos below. 📷

🔸 Conduct toolbox talks – always.
🔸 Discuss the risk assessment.
🔸 Encourage each crew member to share their ideas, experiences, opinions, and feedback.
🔸 Officers should have an open mind and constructive attitude, ready to acknowledge feedback from the crew.

How do you ingrain safety into your crew’s DNA? By strengthening safety habits through consistency – just like what TORM Troilus do! 🙌
The crew completed their first Safety Delta cycle for this year and emphasised the power of consistency in building a good safety culture.
They planned to develop this consistency by:
✅ Applying Safety I’s Integration in their daily routine jobs (Integration is one of the five “Safety I” behaviours developed by Green-Jakobsen)
✅ Making safety both an individual and shared responsibility
✅ And following good safety practices even after a shipboard management change
Thanks to Captain Vishal Shriyan and the whole TORM Troilus crew for sharing their ! Check out their photos below. 👇
