What happens when learning meets service in healthcare?
Medical students from the University of the Philippines were given a unique opportunity to Shadow a Chiropractor where learning went beyond observation.
Through the Hands for Vitality Mission, they didn’t just study the science of chiropractic—they witnessed it in action. From assessing patients to observing precise adjustments, they saw how function-focused, non-pharmacologic care can help address real musculoskeletal concerns.
More importantly, they experienced how chiropractic care can be a powerful tool in giving back to the community—providing quality, patient-centered care to our partner community in Pasig.
Be part of experiences that shape how you see healthcare.
Stay tuned for our next Shadow a Chiropractor session.

Students from the UP College of Medicine recently had the opportunity to shadow .ph faculty member , gaining firsthand exposure to how chiropractic adjustments are performed and how deeply patient-centered care is practiced in a real clinical setting.
During their visit, they witnessed the science behind each adjustment, the importance of anatomy and clinical reasoning, and how chiropractic care goes beyond technique to focus on restoring function, movement, and overall well-being.
Their reflections say it best:
“It’s not just about cracking sounds, it’s about restoring function.”
“Chiropractic focuses on functional care that modern medicine sometimes overlooks.”
“Seeing it firsthand completely changed my perspective.”
Experiences like this help future physicians appreciate the value of integrative, collaborative healthcare, opening doors to better patient outcomes through informed choice and understanding.

Fifteen years ago, in 2010, I first stepped onto the IMU University campus while their chiropractic program was being established by Dr. Michael Haneline—a professor from my alma mater, Palmer West.
It’s incredible to see how far the program has come. Today, 708 graduates have helped seed the growth of chiropractic across Malaysia and the region—serving communities, elevating care, and carrying the profession forward.
At CICS, we are honored to be one of IMU’s educational partners. Each year, nearly 60 IMU students join us for their clinical externship and community health immersion. As IMU’s Vice Chancellor and CEO Professor Emerita Dr Asma Ismail shared
“This collaboration has created better human beings.”
“We acknowledge the Camara Chiropractic Institute for allowing our students to engage in global communities and witness the need for Chiropractic and Traditional Medicine.”
During this visit, we strengthened the pathway for future generations of practitioners by:
1️⃣ Securing student mobility programs so CICS students can spend time learning at IMU.
2️⃣ Beginning collaborative research discussions.
3️⃣ Exploring future academic partnerships that will shape the next chapter of chiropractic education in Asia.
IMU prepared a truly outstanding one-day academic program—highlighting how TCIM and Chiropractic can be integrated into care for complex cases: cancer support, brain health, pediatrics, athletics, and even animal chiropractic.
It was a privilege to witness this historic milestone and to celebrate it with our colleagues and friends at IMU. From the Philippines, our heartfelt congratulations.
The future of chiropractic in the region is bright—and we’re honored to continue guiding, collaborating, and building it together. 🇵🇭🇲🇾
