Today, we celebrate not only another year of your life, but also the person you are and the impact you have made on the people around you. 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒, & 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐒; 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝟐𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒🪒🏛️

On 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, members of the 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗠𝗮𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 gathered together via Google Meet as the 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 opened.

Newly added member, 𝗠𝘅. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗘𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 took their Oath of Office and was officially recognized as the Legislator of the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS).

Additionally, committee heads of the Committee on Ethics, Committee on Student Organizations, and Committee on Senate Auxiliary presented reports of their respective committees.

The members also started to tackle the possible constitutional amendments the 7th UMak Student Congress will create. With the vote of the majority, the 7th Student Congress formally expresses their intent to revise the 2019 USC Constitution through a Constitutional Assembly.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐄, 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐒. 🏛️

With purpose in every deliberation and responsibility in every decision, the 𝟕𝙩𝙝 𝙐𝙈𝙖𝙠 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 officially convened its 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 on September 2, 2026, marking the beginning of another chapter in student legislative service.

The session brought together the members of the Congress to formally set the course for the term ahead, with the 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 placed before the body for discussion and consideration.

Beyond the proceedings, this gathering signifies the Congress’ commitment to a mandate greater than the chambers in which it sits, to 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮, 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

As the gavel opens the first chapter of this legislative journey, may every voice carry the aspirations of the students, every deliberation upholds the spirit of service, and every decision move the University of Makati forward.

On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐢 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 commenced the 𝐎𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 of its newly added Student Legislators, followed by the 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬.

The meeting was attended alongside the other 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐬: the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐔𝐒𝐂), 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐒𝐉𝐂), 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐂𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐋), and 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝐂𝐂𝐂).

Today, we commemorate 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲 to honor the life, courage, and sacrifice of the former 𝐒𝐞𝐧. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 “𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲” 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐫.

His unwavering fight for 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 and 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 reminds us that the voice of the people must never be silenced. May his legacy continue to inspire every Filipino to stand for truth, uphold justice, and love our country.

In every plume lies the power to put conviction into words; in every voice, we carry the mandate of those we serve; and in every hand, we hold the responsibility to turn words into action.

On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐌𝐚𝐤 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 took their oath to fulfill their duties as the highest legislative body of the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥. They recognize that their oath is more than the crafting of resolutions and policies; it is a solemn duty to listen to the concerns of the student body, deliberate with purpose, and create meaningful measures that uphold their rights, welfare, and interests.
