What began as a week of volunteerism and shared responsibility culminated in a celebration of partnership, commitment, and collective action as Perrett Central Integrated School successfully held its Brigada Eskwela 2026 Culmination Program on June 5.

The program served as an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of everyone who dedicated their time, resources, and efforts in preparing the school for the opening of classes. Through the combined support of BLGU-Kalaong, PNP Maitum, BFP-Maitum, RHU Maitum, 105th IB DELTA, SLPA, the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), stakeholders, parents, volunteers, and other community partners, various initiatives and improvement projects were successfully carried out, reinforcing the community’s commitment to quality education and learner welfare.

Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Darlene Cris Kaye E. Yama, T-III and Co-Coordinator, Amsor S. Ali, T-I highlighted the accomplishments achieved through the collective efforts of teachers, parents, volunteers, stakeholders, and partner agencies throughout the implementation of Brigada Eskwela. Their presentation underscored how collaboration and active community participation translated into meaningful improvements within the school.

School Head, Leonarda F. Katug, P-III expressed her sincere gratitude to all individuals and organizations who continuously support the school’s programs and initiatives. She acknowledged that the success of Brigada Eskwela was made possible through the generosity, commitment, and shared vision of partners who believe in the value of education and community involvement.

As Brigada Eskwela came to a close, Perrett Central Integrated School reaffirmed the power of community collaboration in advancing education. Through the collective efforts of partners, stakeholders, and volunteers, the school is now ready to welcome learners for School Year 2026–2027 in a safer, cleaner, and more conducive learning environment. 💚✨

ARAL Summer Remediation Completers, together with their parents, gathered in a meaningful celebration of the successful culmination of the ARAL Summer Remediation Program 2026. The event highlighted the learners’ hard work, perseverance, and achievements as they completed a season of learning and enrichment.

The school also recognized the invaluable contributions of the teacher-volunteers and tutor-volunteers whose dedication and commitment made the program possible. School Head, Leonarda F. Katug, P-III extended her heartfelt gratitude and unwavering support to all volunteers, parents, and stakeholders who worked together to ensure the success of the initiative.

United in purpose, driven by service, and inspired by the spirit of bayanihan, Perrett Central Integrated School officially kicked off Brigada Eskwela 2026—bringing together teachers, parents, learners, stakeholders, and community partners in a shared commitment to create a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for every learner.

The celebration commenced with a vibrant Recorrida around the barangay and nearby communities to inform, encourage, and invite volunteers and stakeholders to participate in this year’s Brigada Eskwela. The activity served as a call for collective action, highlighting the importance of community involvement in supporting quality education.

The kick-off continued with the Opening Program and Orientation. During the program, Hon. Calimpong, BLGU Kalaong- Committee on Education, emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among all sectors in ensuring the success of Brigada Eskwela. PCISTA President, Ma’am Ederlyn Abequibel expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the parents and stakeholders for their continuous support and willingness to contribute to the school’s development.

On the other hand, Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Ma’am Dharlene Cris Kaye Yama provided important reminders regarding the flow of activities and implementation of Brigada Eskwela. School DRR Coordinator, Ma’am Dharlene Pangilinan underscored the significance of prioritizing the safety and well-being of learners throughout all school preparations and activities.

Meanwhile, prior to the Brigada Eskwela Kick-off, School Head, Ma’am Leonarda F. Katug, P-III spearheaded a preparatory meeting where key assignments and responsibilities were discussed. She also expressed her hopes for the success of the program through the collective efforts and cooperation of all stakeholders.

Following the orientation, teachers, parents, learners, volunteers, and stakeholders immediately joined forces in various clean-up, repair, and beautification activities, demonstrating the true essence of bayanihan. Their collective efforts reflected a strong commitment to ensuring that the school is ready to welcome learners for School Year 2026–2027.

Kasabay ng Brigada Eskwela ay ang pagpapatuloy enrollment ng mga mag-aaral mula Elementarya hanggang Sekondarya, kabilang ang mga transferee at balik-aral learners. Inaanyayahan po ang lahat na makiisa at maging bahagi ng makabuluhang gawaing ito. Perrett Central Integrated School continues to strengthen its commitment to literacy development through the ongoing implementation of the ARAL Summer Remediation Program during Days 5 to 7, focusing on improving learners’ reading skills, comprehension, and academic performance.

On Day 5, remediation sessions continued alongside a meeting spearheaded by the School Head, emphasizing the importance of intensifying reading interventions and ensuring that no learner is left behind. Teachers were reminded to sustain meaningful and learner-centered remediation strategies to further address the reading needs of students.

The school also acknowledged the implementation of the 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐀, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐀! Program in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The program is a community-based tutorial initiative designed to help struggling and beginning readers improve their literacy skills while encouraging parental involvement and providing opportunities for college student tutors to assist in reading instruction.

Day 6 highlighted continuous reading activities and guided interventions that focused on enhancing learners’ fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through engaging and interactive reading sessions.

Meanwhile, Day 7 centered on strengthening reading literacy through collaborative learning, learner participation, and sustained remediation efforts that promote confidence and a deeper appreciation for reading among learners.

Through the continuous implementation of the ARAL Program and the support of the 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐀, 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐀! initiative, Perrett Central Integrated School remains dedicated to nurturing literacy not only among learners but also within families and the wider community—creating empowered readers and lifelong learners for a brighter future. 📖✨

Building brighter readers one day at a time, the ARAL Summer Remediation Program 2026 of Perrett Central Integrated School successfully conducted its Day 1–4 sessions from May 6–8 and 11 for learners with frustration-level reading difficulties. Through the dedication and commitment of the Tutor and Tutor Volunteers, the program became a meaningful journey of learning, patience, and hope. ✨

The program officially opened on May 6 with an orientation attended by learners and parents, where the goals, schedules, and important details of the remediation program were discussed. This activity also strengthened the partnership between the school and families in supporting the learners’ reading development and academic growth. 💡

On May 7, learners enthusiastically participated in various reading tasks and engaging activities designed to improve comprehension, vocabulary, and reading confidence. Meanwhile, on May 8, Tutor and Tutor Volunteers implemented a work-from-home setup where they prepared learning materials, checked assessments, and organized instructional resources to ensure continuous and effective learning support for the learners. 📚📝

By May 11, the sessions focused on thorough reading exercises and guided interventions that helped learners practice fluency and develop a deeper understanding of what they read. Through patience, dedication, and collaboration, the program continues to create opportunities for learners to strengthen their reading skills and build confidence in learning.

More than just a summer program, this initiative serves as a reminder that with guidance, perseverance, and continuous support, every learner can overcome challenges and discover the joy of reading. ❤️

𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭, 𝘒𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘰𝘯𝘨, 𝘔𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘮— With the mission to strengthen campus journalism and develop future storytellers, the 2025 District-Based Journalism Training was successfully held on August 29–30, 2025 at Perrett Central Integrated School.

The two-day event gathered young campus journalists and their coaches from different schools in the district for intensive training and workshops covering various fields of journalism.

The opening program was highlighted by the presence of school and district officials. Leonarda F. Katug, P-I, School Head of PCIS, welcomed the participants with inspiring remarks—encouraging them to maximize the training as an opportunity to sharpen their skills and excel in their event respectively, while Edina N. Cabbigat, MT-I, District Journalism Coordinator, delivered the Statement of Purpose, highlighting the vital role of journalism in empowering the youth to express their voices responsibly and truthfully.

Day 1 focused on workshops in Science and Technology Writing, News Writing, Sports Writing, and Photojournalism. On Day 2, participants engaged in advanced workshops on Copy Reading and Headline Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Feature Writing, and Editorial and Column Writing. Collaborative activities and discussions kept the sessions lively and meaningful.

The training was made more insightful through the expertise of the invited resource speakers: Jenneth Lagon, Christine Mae Villanueva, Mary Ann Delgado, and Gian Carlo Licanda, who shared their knowledge and practical tips in their respective fields of journalism. Their sessions provided participants with real-world perspectives and skills that can be applied to campus publications.

The event culminated with the submission of outputs, followed by the awarding of certificates to participants and trainers. Closing remarks and acknowledgments underscored the importance of journalism in amplifying the voices of the youth and promoting truth in society.

Through this district initiative, the DepEd community continues to empower young journalists to become advocates of truth, creativity, and responsible communication in their schools and communities.

Perrett Central Integrated School came alive with energy and excitement as it celebrated its 2025 Sports Day last August 26–27, 2025, carrying the theme “Sports Engagement: A Key to Lifelong Fitness and Development.”

The two-day event highlighted not only the athletic skills of students but also their teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, a values that go beyond the playing field. From track and field races to ball games and group competitions, the campus turned into a vibrant arena of youthful vigor and healthy rivalry.

School officials, teachers, and parents proudly cheered for their athletes, highlighting the community’s support for physical education and student well-being. More than a competition, Sports Day 2025 served as a reminder of the importance of physical fitness in the holistic growth of every learner. As students marched, ran, and played, they embodied the very essence of the theme, embracing sports as a lifelong commitment to health, wellness, and personal development.

The celebration concluded with joy, camaraderie, and the promise that the values gained from sports will continue to inspire students in their journey inside and outside the classroom.
