Living in the 21st century gave each one of us a whole new level of experience. Constant progress paved the way to new ideas which made our tasks easier. With this, we can now plan and finish a task in just a single click. However, the world is changing constantly. People still seek for breakthroughs and surpass ideas that were then unimaginable. In line with this digital progress, more fields are looking for experts who can help them improve their processes. This made ICT strand as one of the top choices in senior high.

What is ICT Strand?
Information Communication and Technology or ICT Strand is one of the strands offered under Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) Track of K-12 curriculum. ICT strand subjects seek to teach students concepts and skills in information technology. Under ICT curriculum, students will learn how to write programs and design websites. This will also help them hone their skills in animation and illustration which will help them thrive in the creative field. Aside from these, ICT strand will also cover telecom installation and medical transcription.

Taking ICT strand subjects is a good starting point if you want to take IT-related courses in college. Learning the basic concepts will give enrollees of ICT strand enough edge to excel. Aspiring programmers may choose to study software and network engineering. Those who want to enter jobs in the creative field may take multimedia arts, digital illustration, animation, and graphic arts. These are just some courses that await ICT students in college.

Graduates of ICT will also get a certificate from TESDA upon passing the exam. This will grant them more chances to get hired as soon as they enter the workforce.

Technical-Vocational Livelihood Track!

If you are really not sure if you will be able to pursue any degree after Senior High or if you want to earn money immediately after graduation, then this track is for you. Even without college, Technical-Vocational- Livelihood track will equip you with job-ready skills in the future.

This track also invests primarily on skills that can gain you requisite COCs (Certificates of Competency) and NCs (National Certifications) which would be essential when looking for better career opportunities in agriculture, electronics, and trade. This is also important when applying abroad where the skills you gain would prepare you as you join the workforce.

HOME ECONOMICS STRAND
• What are the subjects in this strand?
Subjects in the Home Economics can lead to National certifications based on TESDA standards. You will be taking up courses on barbering, bartending, beauty care, bread and pastry, caregiving, cookery, dressmaking, food and beverage, housekeeping, tourism, handicrafts among others.

• What can I do after SHS?
There are so many careers that you can explore after taking this strand! You can have a future of becoming a baker, barista, makeup artist, barber, stylist, therapist, clerk, tailor, tour guide, or chambermaid. Various business set ups are also into this track like dress shop, beauty salon, coffee shop, bakery, snack bar, food cart, handicrafts among others.
This strand can also prepare you to
college degrees on Hospitality and Tourism Management, Nutrition, Food Technology, Culinary Arts, Business Education, or Interior Designing.

1. Make sure na piliin niyo yung specific specialization sa TVL kung saan kayo interested kasi puro Hands-on din yan

2. Kung sa Cookery naman, dapat may interest kayo sa pagluluto at marunong na kayo para naman di kayo magmukhang Rich Kid sa papasukan niyo at dapat marami kayong budget sa pagluluto

3. Kung sa ICT, make sure na marunong na kayo sa computer or may experience na kayo kasi more on Editing at Info lang yan about sa computer also alamin niyo narin mga parts Ng computer

4. Kung sa Agri-Fishery, make sure niyo na may interest kayo sa mga pagtatanim at sa pangingisda kasi economics din yan

5. Sa Automotive alamin niyo about sa mga sasakyan mga parts at functions

6. Sa Industrial Arts dapat alamin niyo na mga kagamitan sa pagkakarpintero like mga tools at mga uri Ng metal at woods kaya dapat magtanong tanong na kayo sa mga kakilala niyo

7. Graphic Artist aralin niyo na paano magedit at paano gumamit Ng Photoshop manood kayo ng YT maraming Tutorial don kahit basics lang

8. Ibasura moyung mentality na "Madali lang ang TVL" dahil lahat ng strand may paghihirap at may iba iba tayong interest

9. Makinig lang during lectures at makipagkaibigan kasa mga masisipag magaral

10. May academic din Naman Ang TVL but more on Skills talaga ang TVL kaya goodluck

If you are planning to continue your studies in college with this as your strand, you can take up electrical computer engineering, information technology, software and network engineering!
