Half the task becomes easier when a team works together. Collaboration turns challenges into accomplishments, because when a team works as one, we get things done.

Through shared participation, open communication, and evidence-based discussion, the ALS-SHS team works collectively to identify the strengths, gaps, challenges, and priority needs of the ALS-SHS program of Magallanes National Vocational High School. Participants listen to one another, share relevant experiences and evidence, analyze issues objectively, and collaboratively formulate feasible recommendations.

The collective outputs of the FGD will serve as a basis for developing the ALS-SHS Implementation Assessment and Action Plan of Magallanes NVHS. In this way, every team member contributes to a unified effort to strengthen flexible, inclusive, learner-centered, and responsive ALS-SHS implementation and ultimately improve the learning experiences and progression of ALS learners.

Term 1 FGD on the Implementation of ALS - SHS | August 13 & 14, 2206 (1:00-5:00 PM)

MNVHS Senior High School Faculty handling ALS subjects for Terms 1 - 3 convened for the conduct of Term 1 Focused Group Discussion (FGD) on the Implementation of the Alternative Learning System – Senior High School (ALS-SHS): Towards a Responsive, Flexible, and Learner-Centered Implementation on August 13 & 14, 2026 (1:00-5:00 PM).

The activity is intended to provide a structured venue for reflection, consultation, and collaborative assessment of the current implementation of ALS-SHS during Term 1. Specifically, the FGD will gather insights on the program's strengths and challenges, curriculum responsiveness, effective teaching and learning strategies, factors affecting learner participation and retention, resource and technology requirements, teacher capacity-building needs, and priority actions for improving the implementation of ALS-SHS.

The conduct of this activity did not affect or disrupt regular classes of the school. The schedule of Thursday and Friday afternoons is dedicated to ALS-SHS learners as part of the school's implementation of the flexible learning arrangements for the program. Hence, the conducted FGD fell within the designated ALS-SHS schedule.

ARAL TUTORS’ MEETING | August 13, 2026

Magallanes National Vocational High School conducted an ARAL Tutors’ Meeting on August 13, 2026, to strengthen the implementation of the ARAL Program and ensure effective support for learners.

The meeting was facilitated by Mrs. Cristy L. Peña, Head Teacher III and Academic Department Head, and Mrs. Mercie Joy D. Argana, Teacher III and ARAL Coordinator. It was attended by MNVHS teachers and ARAL Tutors, including former practice teachers of the school who have joined the program as learning facilitators.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss important matters concerning the tutors’ roles, responsibilities, and strategies in providing meaningful and responsive learning support to ARAL learners. It also served as a venue for coordination, sharing of insights, and aligning efforts toward the successful implementation of the program.

Through the continued collaboration of school personnel and ARAL Tutors, MNVHS remains committed to providing learners with accessible, targeted, and quality learning support.
