The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students proudly took part in the recently concluded Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Seminar, conducted by the Department of Tourism – Regional Office II at Quirino State University – Maddela Campus.
The seminar was made even more impactful through the insightful message of Ms. Gretchen A. Jallorina – FBSE Regional Trainer, who emphasized that true service excellence goes beyond skills—it is rooted in empathy, genuine care, and the uniquely Filipino value of Maka- Diyos, Makatao, Maka-Kalikasan, Makabansa, Masayahin, May-bayanihan at May Pag-asa.
Throughout the seminar, students were engaged in meaningful discussions, activities, and reflections that highlighted the importance of delivering excellent service that is not only competent and professional but also uniquely Filipino in character.
The seminar would not have been possible without the unwavering support and presence of Mr. Troy Alexander G. Miano- Regional Director of DOT RO2, Dr. Eduard P. Alip – Campus, Administrator, Dr Annalene Grace E. Co – Director for Instruction, and Ms. Kathrina C. Dela Vega - Municipal Tourism Officer of Maddela.
Their commitment to enriching student learning experiences and promoting industry-aligned training played a vital role in making this event a reality. This experience served as an inspiring reminder to our future hospitality professionals of their vital role in promoting the Philippines as a premier tourism destination—one guest, one smile, and one heartfelt service at a time.
