The Schools Division Office of Tagum City proudly stood tall on the national stage as its Region XI delegates in the ALIVE Musabaqah showcased excellence at the National Festival of Talents 2026 in Roxas City, Capiz.

Naureen M. Dibansa of Magugpo Pilot Imelda Elementary School โ SPED Center, guided by Coach Sahman D. Liberato, emerged as 2nd Runner-Up in the Arabic Language Spelling event.

Haminodin Dical of F. Dela Cruz โ P. Sagun Elementary School, under the mentorship of Coach Rabel D. Cabrasan, secured 4th Runner-Up in the Quran Reading competition.

The Davao Region celebrates the achievements of Ritchyl Q. Azarcon, named Most Outstanding School Paper Adviser in the Philippines (MOSPA), and Emerald S. Malabosa, awarded Most Outstanding Campus Journalist in the Philippines (MOCJ) at the elementary level, during the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held on May 17, 2026, at Western Leyte College of Ormoc in Ormoc City, Leyte.
Both awardees hail from the Division of Tagum City and represent the same institution, Magugpo Pilot Imelda Elementary School โ SPED Center.
Carrying the pride of Region XI, Azarcon and Malabosa exemplify excellence in campus journalism-bringing honor not only to their school and division but also to the entire Davao Region on the national stage.

With the dedicated mentorship of Mrs. Kristine A. Dominguez, the team impressed the judges through the depth and quality of their documentary. Their work was further distinguished with a special award for the Best Script, a testament to their creativity and skill.
Sharing in their triumph were Schools Division Superintendent Alona C. Uy, CESO V, and Filipino Education Program Supervisor Cristy S. Agudera, who joined them in receiving the honors.

PILAK SA UNANG SABAK
Matapos ang dalawang taong puspusang paghahanda,matagumpay na nasungkit ni Aaliyah Shayne Ampoloquio mula sa Don Ricardo Briz Central Elementary School ang ikalawang puwesto sa Pagsulat ng Editoryal sa kanyang kauna-unahang National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) na ginanap sa Ormoc City, Leyte, nitong Abril 13-17.
Hindi naging madali ang landas patungo sa pambansang entablado. Matatandaang noong 2025, tumapos lamang sa ikalawang puwesto si Aaliyah sa Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) sa Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, isang hakbang na lang sana para sa NSPC Ilocos Sur. Ngunit sa halip na sumuko, ginamit niya itong inspirasyon upang mas paghusayan pa.
Sa gabay ng kanyang tagapayo na si Anjo J. Literatus, naging doble ang preparasyon ni Aaliyah. Nagbunga ang lahat ng puyat at pagsasanay nang hirangin siyang kampeon sa RSPC 2026 sa Mati City, na nagsilbing tiket niya patungong Ormoc.
Sa gitna ng mainit na labanan sa nationals, hindi nakaligtas si Aaliyah sa kaba. Inamin niyang dumaan siya sa puntong nahirapan siyang simulan ang kanyang artikulo, ngunit dahil sa determinasyon, natapos niya ang kanyang piyesa bago ang itinakdang oras.
Naging sandalan ni Aaliyah and sir Aj ang Panginoon habang naghihintay ng resulta. At hindi nga sila nabigo. Isang pilak na medalya ang bitbit ni Aaliyah sa kanyang pag-uwi, patunay na ang bawat patak ng tinta at pawis ay may katumbas na tagumpay.
