The NU Clark Student Discipline Office conducted the National Crime Prevention Week webinar via MS Teams on September 12, 2026, with the theme, โSafety, Security, Privacy: A Shared Responsibility.โ
The event featured two timely sessions that emphasized the importance of informed choices, campus safety, and data privacy in building safer and more crime-resilient communities.
The first session, โSmart Choices, Safer Campus: KabaleNUs as Partners for Crime-Resilient Communities,โ featured Lt. Col. Mark Ian J. Sespene, Nurse Joanna Marie V. Aviles, and Nurse Nazareil Lat, who shared valuable insights on the role of individuals in promoting safety and preventing crime within the campus community.
The second session, โThe Privacy-Security Paradox: Why Keeping Your Data Safe is the Best Crime Prevention,โ featured Dr. Harwin C. Mendoza, who highlighted the importance of protecting personal information as an essential part of crime prevention.
Through meaningful conversations and practical insights, we are reminded that crime prevention begins with awareness, responsible choices, and collective action. Together, let us continue fostering a safer, more secure, and privacy-conscious KabaleNU community. ๐๐
