Angat Bayanihan, Angat Pampanga, and NU Clark are activating Project Puso sa Bawat Piso, a monetary donation drive for the benefit of Kapampangan Communities severely affected by flooding due to the week-long southwest monsoon.

All proceeds from this monetary donation drive will be turned over to Angat Pampanga for the procurement of relief goods. Beneficiary Communities for the turnover are still currently being identified by Angat Pampanga and their team and will be closely coordinated to NU Clark for the mobilization efforts for repacking activities.

We proudly congratulate, Ms. Lovi Mirelle Tanglao, a Senior High School Grade 12 student from the Management and Accountancy Pathway, for her outstanding achievement at the Global Youth Ambassadors Model Conference (GYAMC) 2026 held in Iloilo City.

Ms. Lovi achieved the Best Position Paper Award in recognition of her exceptional research, analytical thinking, and policy-writing skills demonstrated throughout the conference. She also served as the Delegate of the Kingdom of Sweden under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) committee.

The GYAMC 2026, a premier academic conference integrating Model United Nations and Model Congress simulations, provided delegates with opportunities to engage in global diplomacy, legislative deliberations, policy formulation, and collaborative problem-solving. Anchored on the theme, “Reimagining Systems: Promoting Inclusive Governance and Justice in Contemporary Societies,” the conference challenged young leaders to address contemporary issues through critical thinking, leadership, diplomacy, and innovative policymaking.

Integrating the Institution Through a Unified System

National University Technology Services Office (TSO) maintains the network system through its Network Administrator, Engr. Raul “Al” M. Quintela, applying his technical expertise and management.

Before his role at the present, the Jhocsons and NU were already part of his academic journey. He completed his basic education at Nazareth School (now known as NU Nazareth School) as a scholar of the couple Teodoro and Nelly Jhocson, son and daughter-in-law of NU founder Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson.

He continued his stay in NU as a student athlete. While being part of the NU Juniors Basketball Team and competing in the UAAP, he finished his secondary education as salutatorian from the class of 1997.

In college, he served as assistant coach of his former team. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering degree in 2002 and became a Registered Electronics Engineer.

Engr. Quintela was also a faculty member of NU Manila College of Engineering (COE) and College of Computing and Information Technologies (CCIT) for a few years during his stint as Assistant Director of NU Manila Information Technology Systems Office (ITSO).

As he moved to the central TSO, he now handles the network system of each campus during their respective launches, expanding his service for his alma mater.

Additionally, he guides new generations of Nationalians as the adviser and founder of 551st Media (NU Manila’s official photography club) and NU Epilogue (alumni media team).

A seasoned educator and distinguished civil engineering professional, Engr. Valdez brings a wealth of experience in engineering education, academic leadership, research, and professional practice.

Prior to joining National University Clark, he served as Chairperson of the Civil Engineering Department of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) and as Chief of the Coastal Engineering and Management Research and Development Center, where he played a key role in advancing research, innovation, and academic excellence in civil and coastal engineering.

With his proven leadership, research expertise, and deep commitment to the engineering profession, Engr. Valdez is poised to lead the Department of Civil Engineering toward greater heights in academic excellence, innovation, research, and industry engagement.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Business Administration from Far Eastern University – Manila (FEU Manila). As a practicing accountant, he has provided his expertise to several companies and accounting firms in the Philippines, gaining valuable experience across diverse organizational and professional settings.

Complementing his industry practice is his extensive experience in higher education, having served as a faculty member in various schools in Manila. His exposure to both the professional and academic sectors has equipped him with a broad perspective on the evolving needs of the accounting and business industries and the competencies required of future professionals.

Under his leadership, the department is expected to further strengthen its academic excellence, industry relevance, professional development, and commitment to producing competent, ethical, and future-ready management accounting professionals.
